I have currentyl TWO QuickSilver One's for Average Credit, both $500 limits -- my score has since risen 80 points on all 3 bureuas since getting these cards 3 months ago. I hear all kinds of things from Cap One -- some reps say you are limited to 2 cards for Average credit, others say there is no limit (even EO stated this - but to be honest, they are not the smartest people, and seem to often have no clue about anything!) .. Forums here are unclear -- I want to app tonight for the Journey card as my score is now 640 (was 578 on earlier approval!) . . but dont want to take a HP only to get denial for having 2 cards in that category. I want to app for VentureOne or QS, but will wait until I hit 650, at least thats what I think I should do ...
Does anyone know the REAL limit on Capone cards if any?? And if they deny me for having their limit will they still HP me for that denial ? I hate this limit thing. Their chat reps just stated "No Limit on cards with us" and another said 5 was the limit. I'm LOST lol! Advice please?
I know you get sick of me saying this but as you were told by several people a few days ago I think another few months in the garden is for the best. Don't app for anything right now. Your scores having risen is exciting, yes, but remember that score isn't the only piece of the puzzle and your score is basically just a snapshot in time, whereas your report tells the whole story.
I strongly suggest waiting until 2016. The card isn't going anywhere (and in fact earns lower rewards than your QS do, technically). And remember, with Capital One it's just "a wasted HP", rather 3 wasted HPs! Good luck. Keep up the good work, but put this app on the back burner for now.
To answer your question I think you would be fine as far as "number of cards" with them, as I don't know if Journey is in the same bucket as QS1. However -- just WAIT, and then you can apply for a regular QS and avoid the issue! Just my opinion.
With regard to Venture One, btw: just don't. 1.25% for travel only vs the 1.5% cash you can get when you go for a QS.

2 cards for "low, average" credit type cards, I believe it is six for "prime" cards. The Journey card will only give you another low limit, What, if I may ask is the BIG rush to apply for a card?

You're right I'll wait! I just want to rack up rewards for travel and such next year and to get a head start. I run a ton of money through my cards but need more rewards cards !
For starters, the Journey card is only 1.25% so that already makes it a non-starter against your Quicksilver One(s) Secondly, I would combine those other two cards so that if you must pay the annual fee again (because they may or may not waive it), You only pay one.
I totally understand your desire to want to get started on your rewards for upcoming travel. Have you done their prequal? I'm not sure what your full background is, but I'd try that first. If they give you a fixed rate. then maybe you should pull the trigger. But if they give you a range, I'd garden until you get the fixed rate.
Good luck!

I have 5, and I believe the limit is 5.
If you read the terms of each Cap One card before you apply, it states how many cards you can have to apply for that certain card.
