I got $500 in 2019 automatically after a year on my Propel. Never broke 20% on the $9500 SL. Recently inquired about another CLI and the Rep read the standard important info and that they may need to HP. I said no for the request hoping for the SP. However, I got the impression from that Rep that I could've probably gotten an increase without the HP. (It was the way he was kind of hinting with his tone.)

They didn't tell me there might be a HP. They just asked for the amount. Of course it varies by profile and amount requested.
I've gotten multiple auto CLI's on my Wells Fargo card over the years, I forgot the exact timeline but they were from 2011-2014. I think mine started out as a student/platnium card, my SL was $1000 and grew to $7500 in that time. If I remember correctly the CLI's were $1000 -> $2000, $2000 -> $3000, $3000 -> $7500 and it's been at that ever since.
I remember I had really high utilizations on the card because it was my only card for a long time and this was before I knew anything about credit but they still gave me CLIs, WF was and still is my main banking institution so that might have played a factor but who knows.
Well it happened I got a CLI from $1500 to $2800

Well, there you go, right on time. Congratulations! Nothing auto about the auto CLI. Not given to everyone.

You might want to call back. The way it's supposed to work is you ask for a SP CLI; the CSR reads the disclaimers, asks your income & housing amount; CSR then spins the wheel and you either get a CLI or not. If you do not get a CLI you then have the option to let an underwriter take a look -- at this point there will be a HP.
I recently increased both cards this way. Good luck.
Yes indeed I did call today. The process played out just as you had described James_A.
Was granted a CLI from $10k to $16k on my Propel. No HP was needed. Thanks again.

Took a bit over the 10th statement posting date for the CLI. Always PIF and mulitple times per month.
Happpy i don't have to make so many mulitple payments now to keep my usage under 30%
