Meeeee!

7-25-36 (TU-EX-EQ), but all but 5 or so will disappear by August. Might buy a home this year too!

Re: How many inquiries

I have 39 on EX and my scores has not changed much. I guess after some number of inq they stop counting its effect on the scores.

How did you get approved for Amex Platinum with 39 INQs on EX?

Wow.

Re: How many inquiries

Keep in mind that there is a difference between (a) what shows up on your CR and (b) what is used in calculating your score.

Your report shows the last 2 years of inqs.  But only the most recent 12 months of inqs are factored into your FICO score.  On a manual review, a potential lender will see inqs 1-2 years old even though they do not affect your score.

Multiple auto or mortgage inqs will count as a single inq provided they are pulled within a 2-week period.  This does not apply to credit card apps, although I have heard (please correct me if I am wrong) that if you apply for multiple cards with the same issuer (BofA, AmEx, etc.) on the same day, they only count as one inq per day per issuer.  YMMV.

Re: How many inquiries

Hi Cheddar, Now they gave me Platinum with 39 Inq's. But before they would not give me regular Delta card which was supposed to be easier to get. Do you think, I should followup with them again about my Delta Card and have fun with them?

I think my Oasis card with $5K helped me to get the Platinum Card. I'll wait another 3-6 months and ask them for a biz card. That is it I am all done with the cards. By the way many of the inq's on EX are for my business. Later I figured out way to get biz card with out my personal credit or pg. Now I have 14 Trade Lines for my Business.

Only one more Biz Card possibly Plum. That is it. I am all done for next few years with Credit Cards.

My wife called me and tells me that I got my Platinum. She is amazed how the packaging for the card is. She wants to know what is special about Platinum and why it is all packed up so fancy. I can not wait to get home and take a look at my new card.

Re: How many inquiries

I posted my inquiry count earlier via what TC says. MyFICO differs by a couple 8-23-35 (TU-EX-EQ). All of these count and none are mortgage/auto and all are since March 07-present.

Funny thing though, I haven't appd much since wising up. 7 new CC accts since August hurt score-wise. All of the later denials, when scores hovered around 650, did NOT reference excessive inquiries. Whereas when I had less than 10, excessive inquiries was always one of the reasons I was denied.

Yes, inquiries within a 2 week period for mortgages/auto..."For FICO® scores calculated from older versions of the scoring formula, this shopping period is any 14 day span. For FICO® scores calculated from the newest versions of the scoring formula, this shopping period is any 45 day span."

Off topic per se...could that be a hint at the new formula.

Re: How many inquiries

Now a days CCC's are doing hard even for CLI's. So watch out when you ask them for CLI and ask upfront if they would be doing a hard inq.
