Back in the beginning of August I applied for the Blue Sky from Amex and unforunately was denied. During that time my FICO as reported by Discover was 681 and my CK was 696 and I had Util of close to 90%.
In mid-august i also applied for the Chase Freedom and was approved.
As of today my Total utilization between the two cards is 24% and my FICO as reported by Discover is up to 710! but my CK is still at 696.
I have absolutely 0 baddies or late payments and my AAOA is 2.6 years with the oldest being 2 yrs 11 months and newest as of CK 2 years 2 months.
Obviously it seems like my Chase is not reporting yet and my FICO score jump was due to paying off most of my Discover card.
My first question is, will my FICO score that is provided by Discover include my Chase Freedom whenever it does start reporting?
Should i app for Amex again before my Chase starts reporting or should i wait until CK updates to reflect my new account so I can be pretty confident everything is up to date?
I would strongly prefer the Amex ED card but its more important that I get my foot in the door with Amex. For this reason, when i do apply, should i apply for the Delta Skymiles Gold card since it is reported to be the easiet of the revovlers to get and before the AF kicks in, see if i can PC to a different card? Or should i just go for the ED card? I really have no desire to obtain a charge card but if that is my most viable option I will consider it.
My income is also 20k as I am still a student but employed.
Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Hello! Welcome to the forum!
Amex pulls EX. Do you know your scores for EX, & how many inquiries?
I am not sure what my EX score is. The only Inquiries i should have on my report are from my original Amex App, my Chase App, and a credit report my work recently pulled. I believe the CR for work was through TU and I am not sure what Chase pulls. So at most it would be 3 HP and the least would be 1

Have you pulled you free annual credit reports yet?
1) Ignore the CK score. Or at least look at it as an educational score.
2) Amex really likes to see low util. Reduce your util to less than 10%
3) Try the Amex Pre-approvroval's web site. If they pre-approve you, take the plunge. If not wait until December to see if you are pre-approved. Do not app for anything else until then.
I think a low 700 EX score is borderline for Amex. I have seen others approved with lower, but it will certainly be YMMV.
You really need to know how your EX report looks for best results. When you were denid in July what were the reasons for denial? I was denied in July and 30 days later I applied again without much change to my CR and I was approved for the PRG and ED. I did apply for the PRG first and then immediately after the ED card. Amex is a mystery sometimes so I would say if it's the only thing you're trying to apply for in the near future, try again. I chose to apply for a charge card first because it's said to be easier to get approved for them. Once approved I knew I was in and said what the heck and luckily got my ED also.
As for the pre-approval site, I wasn't pre-approved for anything when I applied. You can see my scores down in my siggy. My EX was actually a tiny bit lower when I applied. I also have a couple of lates from 2010 on a student loan and my AAoA is less than yours. Also had about 3 "new" (less than 6 months) account with an income of 90k.
Go to credit.com
You can get your free Experian report/monitoring there
Dont pay any attention to that score either

I think I may end up taking this advice and running with it. I am definitely not in any sort of rush to get another card seeing as I just received my freedom but I do know once I do obtain an Amex I am going to end up gardening for a long time as I'll be completely satisfied with Discover, Amex, Chase.
My only other question is, if I do hold off until December and say my scores are all in the low 700s, should I just app for the card i actually want?

i think you will get approved. You will probably get a low limit because of your income I would probably say 2k. If you really want to play it safe get your utilization below 10 percent before app'ing. I would pretty much guarantee approval at that point.
