Re: How should i Use my Capital one card?

I love you all. This forum has made my life so much less stressful. Im glad to hear that too because I don't know why? But I always feel afraid when I swipe. That they're gonna get mad because I charged 1.18 for a drink. Or 10 small transactions in a day. God forbid I make one big swipe. I guess as long as they are being paid back they really shouldn't care. In fact they should encourage it.

Re: How should i Use my Capital one card?

Can you explain grace period for me? Like...if a card cuts on say...the 28th?

Re: How should i Use my Capital one card?

If you pay in full by the due date, you will be assessed no interest. That is all the grace period means. If you do not pay in full by the due date, you will be charged interest on the remaining balance.

Hi Brachra,

It will say clearly on your statement.

Don't rely on answers here because we might end up giving approximate dates. The due date is the most sacred part of your credit card agreement, honour it with all your life and soul. (Ok with your finances.) If you don't pay the minimum due before the due date, you'll get hit by lots of fees and in the worst case, get reported to credit bureaus as late payment.

In case of most credit cards, the due date is definitely less than 30 days from your statement generation date. For most banks, that date is fixed but some banks make it variable by 1-2 days. I'd pay at least the minimum and whenever possible the full balance within a few days after the statement is generated. Keep an eye out on your online profile at www.capitalone.com

Re: How should i Use my Capital one card?

definitely get the quicksilver card fo everyday purchases if you are going to pay in full.

I use my quicksilver card for everything, bills, groceries, gas, you name it and pay in full every saturday. The rewards pile up quick and you dont pay interest because it's paid in full. I earn about $20/month in rewards for using the card.

I also started with the Platinum, Capital One, which I assume you have.

Try the prequal and see what it says. If it says you qualify, apply, you will almost certainly get it.

Thank you! Someone who sees those terms with some sense! Seriously though after BK DC and only 2 months of cap1 sec usage you think I'd really have a shot at a qs1?

I think you will have a shot. My BK discharged 06/15/2015 and on 06/24/2015, I app'd for the Cap1 Plat and the QS1 back to back and was approved so yes, you have a shot.
