I don't know if it matters to wait, they're really good with approvals.    Pretty sure it will be a new HP though, they're very pull happy.

No need to wait especially if you started with over $5k on Credit Card.  Apply now and ask for the full $15k, it will probably be instant but worse case you will get counter on the full amount but doubt it...

it's going to be another HP either way, but still... do it now and ask for $15k.

Congrats on the approval. Smiley Happy

App for the NavCheck whenever you want, but be aware that they will probably do another hard pull even if it's within 30 days from your last app.

Navcheck-- There's a good chance they will ask for paystubs and get ready for the Hp..I personally would wait and enjoy your CC for now.

Re: How soon should I apply for Navchek?

I applied for it a week after becoming a member and being approved for the Flagship card. I asked for the full $15K and got it. As said, there will be a HP and a request for most recent paystubs and a bank statement for where your pay is deposited. Since it is a line of credit/loan, then it will not be instantly approved in the manner of a CC. You will receive a secured message stating it is "Conditionally Approved" and that's where the request for the addtional info will come in. The LOC will not be available until they receive the signed promissary paper that they send in the mail.

Only you can decide if its worth it to you to get it now or later. I went for it based on what was available to me with the profile I had at the time and NFCU's rep for being generous. As you can see, the LOC is my largest limit and hopefully with future CLIs on my CCs with Navy, I will have 5-digit credit limits by the time I go for other cards I am interested in having high limits on. As they say, higher limits beget higher limits.

If you do go for the NAVchek, best of luck to you and report back your results.

@ sweettea How difficult is it to get the TJX rewards card? Yesterday, I was approved for the Nav NRewards $7K. This is my one and only card. I know I need at least one more card at some point.

Multiple thoughts in here:

1. My partner was instantly approved for $15k NavCheck and the only condition on it is they have to physically mail you an application to sign, as soon as the signature was received back the line became "Active" He had not supplied paystubs in about a year and they did not ask for anything further for the navcheck.

2. TJX is GE and is super easy... If you are in the 650+ you should be good with them and probably even get the MasterCard version of it.  You can also call Credit Solutions once you are approved for manual CLI and online CLI every 4 statements via luv button... GE and TJX are always SP for CLI.

I can't say how easy it is to get, but when I did get it, I only had my secured USAA card which only had a $500 limit at the time (6 months), the Von Maur card (7 months), and I also had just got approved for the NY&Co card a day before applying for TJX. I also have a discharged BK from Jan '09, but have student loans reporting paid on time since 1998 and a handful of accounts that were closed in good standing. There are 3-4 IIBs on my reports as well. With that kind of profile, it can't be too hard! lol!

I applied for the TJX card at the counter while checking out. I felt good that NY&Co had just gave me $250 the day before, and was happy that TJX approved me for $300 - about double of what I was buying that day. IIRC, I think they swiped my USAA card as a part of the in-store app as well. 6 months later, I am now at $1K limit on it.

Sorry, I do not know what my credit scores were at the time. Hope this helps!

@Creditaddict: Did your partner apply for NavyChek with you as a coapplicant or just himself??
