How to PC Barclay Apples Reward?

Well, I am gonna PIF anyway so I wont carry a balance, but it would be nice to have a lower APR just in case one day there is some emergency I can't pay for.

If I were you i would KEEP trying.  Example...Barclays told me they would not PC my Apple Financing Visa and I flat out told the woman.."I am going to call back every day until I can change it, as I know others have" and she did it.  Sometime persistance is key.

I've called several times during the last few months and always received a no answer and that it is impossible to PC a Barclay Apples Reward card. One agent even [teased] me with the question as to which card would I like to have it changed to?

I have zero balance on the card and paid it off in 4 months with the 0% APR. I also stupidly used the card for restaurants when I've earn points that I couldn't care any less about, iTunes and iTunes product gift cards. I still have one that is dusting around somewhere. I don't need to buy music and there are free sources such as Spotify, Youtube, and many other websites.

The above quotation is taking from a FICO forum. The thread is a little over a year old.

Although occasionally people have had sucess, generally speaking it's not a PC that Barclay's is willing to do. If you aren't interested in iTunes gift cards, why on earth did you sign up for the card, knowing that that's indeed the reward program?

Anyway, that's water under the bridge. You can keep calling and seeing if one of the reps is willing to do the PC, but at some point, you'll probably have to save yourself stress and give up on it. You could always just open the card you want and move the limit over (I believe Barclay's will do that). Not a perfect solution, but better than tearing your hair out trying to get a PC.

Because I was a credit card nub. The card looked nice and shiney and said 0% APR for 12 months. I didn't know anything about hard inquiries until a month after that.

Unlike the "cry like a baby" method above that worked for that person, it is just a matter of chance. Perhaps "crying like a baby" method did increase his chances. " Wa wa wa wa wa" until one get's what he/she wants.

Re: How to PC Barclay Apples Reward?

I got this card because I wanted to get a MacBook Pro which was far more expensive than a Windows laptop, and I did not want pay for it any other way. It was my last bank credit card in February 2013 until this week. I'm typing on that MacBook now. I'm still in love with it and its reliability. And frankly I too didn't even consider the other rewards.

I focused just on the 24 months of 0% APR. I'll take 0% for 2 years anytime.

I wouldn't mind PC this card also. I don't use it now. It just adds to my AAOA and helps my util %.

Re: How to PC Barclay Apples Reward?

Their frontline reps are useless, reach out to their EO on facebook, and they will be able to help, I did a few days ago, just got my apple card converted to the barclaycard rewards (one with 2% with gas and stuff)

Thanks. Can you please give me a link to their Facebook account? [edit] I think I found it. Looks official. You can't place the link here anyhow.

Re: How to PC Barclay Apples Reward?

whoops, my bad ment email, just send them a message and explain your problem, they will say to call the number on the back of your card and have the frontline reps handle it, i think they think their reps know how to do it (we all know they dont) but insist they call you.
