I would like a csp because of better travel points.. I pay 95 for amex
Travel points? Do you travel enough to offset the fee? If you are currently at 50% util on relatively small CL's ; have you thought about how much money you would have to push through the CSP to make the card beneficial?
Personally, I feel you should put atleast $50K in travel (And Dining), so that, you will earn atleast 7K bonus points.
Others may chime their usage on this card?
Only reason (my opinion) to have CSP is combined with Freedom and/or Ink. And be able to justify cost with a decent amount (50k+) of spend. If you don't have that, I would look elsewhere (including freedom) IMHO.
I applied for a CSP and they declined through recon because:
1) I did not have other credit cards that had around $5,000 credit limit. I was told that even if my credit was great, I needed to have other cards that had atleast $4,000 credit line for me to given get a chance at the CSP.
2) 30 day lates

This is really discouraging lol
Sorry, but other than the signup bonus I really don't think it's an appropriate card for you. You simply don't earn enough (and therefore can't spend enough) to really make it worthwhile.
You'd be better off with:
1. A no AF cash back card.
2. Using your spend towards signup bonuses.
I was instantly approved with only a $3.1K line as my highest. That rep was misinformed.
Either that, or they make exceptions for those with existing relationships (i.e., higher internal score).
It amazes me just how popular this card is and just how widespread it's become. I was using my CSP to add money to my fare card at a subway kiosk this evening when I met a guy who was doing the same with his CSP. He was an older gent just trying to make his way to the airport. He had "world-weary business traveller nearing retirement" written all over him. We probably didn't have a thing in common aside from out mutual need of subway transit, but even then, we glanced as each other's blue metal money slabs and were like... "Nice."
I thought it was funny in some tiny way.
