How to get Proper CLs Reported?

Hello,

I have a Firestone account, which I have never used becasue CFNA does not report he actual Cl of its accounts.  I have a $1200.00 CL that is just sitting there unused because I am afraid to put a couple of hundred dollars on the accont then have that amount report as my credit line.

Someone reported that what s/he did was use the card then dispute with the CrB the actual credit line and then the corredt CL was reported.  Has anyone else done this or know if this will work?  I can certainly used the utilization, but am afraid to risk this and take even more hits to my credit score.

Re: Getting Proper CLs to Report

I recently opened a new CapOne account which upon reporting the new account did not show a CL, only a balance and high balance.

I called CapOne backdoor and asked them to please correct.  10 days later my CR was updated with correct CL info and 3 weeks later i got a letter from CapOne explaining they had notified the CRA's to correct.

Not sure if this same route might work with the backing bank for your account, but might be worth a try.

Yeah, since CapOne usually reports credit limits, this might just been an oversight on their part.  With CFNA, not reporting is usual business. I do not know how to deal with this company at all.

Re: Getting Proper CLs to Report

I don't have any personal experience with Firestone/CFNA, but everything I read suggests that they are a lost case. You can spend much effort on bringing them to report correctly one month, but it will revert to "normal" (their "normal" that is) afterwards. You can try to do this every month, but I'm not sure whether it's worth it. Or better, I'm sure it isn't.
