Has anyone had any luck having an acct placed back on your file after it was deleted?
I had an Orchard Bank cc for 3 yrs. I closed the card in Jan of 2008.I just received my Investigation Results from TU and it was deleted....There was no lates. This was a good standing closed acct.I disputed the remarks section because it stated closed by credit grantor, And should of said closed by consumer. I called TU they said call HSBC and HSBC said they purge there file every year so sorry can't help either................
If you dispute any portion of the tradeline, including comments, and the OC fails to respond within 30 days to the CRA's inquiry, the CRA will delete the tradeline.
You now face a "reinsertion" which is a bit more complicated. Especially if the account is closed, as the OC may not be inclined to assist.
Reporting is "voluntary" on the part of the OC. Therefore, there is nothing that can force them to reinsert, unless you can find someone who will take the time to do the work.
I had an open account (BoA) get deleted due to a dispute of balance. It took 6 months and an attorney finally to get it resolved (was TU which is THE WORST for getting a reinsertion).
I didnt think this would be an easy task. TU doesnt seem to care. The CSR at TU was like ol well it happens you need to talk to HSBC.
So are you saying i need to keep bugging HSBC?

I sooooo wish that were true, my old HSBC closed account w/lates would be gone after dispute since they wouldnt have any file to verify it with.
Okay, here is the steps required in order to get a TU reinsertion:
I had a personal BoA visa and was AU on my wife's. I made the mistake of disputing my wife's balance (AU) account on my CR. They deleted both accounts. Ultimately it was impossible to get my wife's AU back, and TU flat out said when hell freezes, getting a deleted AU back. But, just to get my own account back took from Sep 08 to end of Feb 09.
1. HSBC must not submit merely a CRA update or standard report, they must initiate a "reinsertion"
2. This will require HSBC to contact their assigned TU "data analyst." Unfortunately, HSBC will probably not know what data analyst is, who it is, how to contact or even believe such a person exists. I had to track down (covert op, I won't divulge all the methods I used to get in touch with the data analyst) and then pass that info to BoA (who did not believe it) and my attorney who assured them they need to contact post haste.
3. It will require manual intervention on the part of the data analyst to instruct and "allow" HSBC to reinsert
4. TU data systems has an automatic filtering to prevent previously deleted items from being reinserted.
5. AU NOTICE: If you delete an AU account you will NEVER be allowed to have it reinserted on TU CR. And yes, I found this out the hard way with one of my wife's accounts. Her balance was incorrectly reported, so I disputed the balance on my CR with TU. TU deleted the account as it is their policy to delete an AU account if it is disputed in any way.
6. You will have to call, nag, bug and harang HSBC....rinse and repeat.
7. I finally had to hire an attorney to write and call both BoA and TU.....then it was fixed in less than 3 days! This was for my personal BoA Visa. Could not get my wife's card (AU) back....that was gone like a freight train never to return.

I hope I haven't screwed myself. My Dept of Educ loan was reporting "closed" to TU. Its an active and open account. I disputed with TU. I hope my SL isn't deleted from my TU report. At least now I understand why it was deleted from Experian. I've contacted the Dept of Education to have them reinsert the SL onto EX, but it's been 30 days and still no update
Do I have a shot in getting my SL back on EX?
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just hung up with HSBC they just keep going in circles telling me to call TU. No matter what i say they wont budge,
And guess what HSBC doen't have a data analyst dept. A superviser told me that. They keep going and going about there files purging and they only have limited access to this acct.EVEN tho they have the acct #. If They have the acct # why can it not be placed back on my file....
3 PLUS YEARS OF HISTORY GONE............................

I believe HSBC has to contact TU's data analyst dept. TU's data analyst has to do the manual adj to allow the reinsertion. So, HSBC can't do it alone. HSBC has to call TU's data analyst! That's how i interpreted the post.
The data analyst is a TU employee, not HSBC.
And like I said, they probably won't even know what one is, how to contact, won't want to try and will tell you to contact TU, who will then tell you to contact HSBC.
The data analyst is not available to consumers. Most subscribers (creditors) are not aware of the data analysts existance.
I became so frustrated that I finally got an attorney involved. And this was for BoA where I am a Premiere Banking Client....so I get better than average service.
Six months of hell....an attorney involved took less than a week, but only because I had done all of the research, knew who the data analyst was by name, email and phone number and was the one to provide this info to BoA because they had no idea what a Data Analyst was....in fact had several credit manager level CSR's tell me no such thing existed. And TU is the worst for reinsertion...EX and EQ is fairly straight forward. I can't count how many times I was on the phone, faxing, and writing to TU and BoA on that.
TU will not accept any info, except disputes, from the consumer. And the consumer cannot dispute something that is not on their CR....meaning you can't dispute its absence, they just tell you to contact the creditor. All data must come from the subscriber (creditor). However, once the tradeline is deleted, they won't accept it from the subscriber unless the subscriber manually contacts the TU data analyst to get them to manually intervene to allow the reinsertion. And neither TU nor HSBC are going to have any interest in doing anything manual for you.
I can remember doing the "angry dance" many times after a phone call with one or the other
I dare say that I yelled a few foul names into the air during my angry dance as well. I feel your frustration....I really do. I don't envy you in any way. To get what you want is going to be more work than any other credit work you have ever done or likely ever will, with the exception of a major identity theft.
