I just did a test run on a little trip, testing the points prices vs the cash prices on hotel rooms.
I knew Hyatt points were worth more than Hilton points, but a little surprised at how much more.
The Hilton points were worth 0.448 cents each.
The Hyatt points were worth 3.56 cents each.
Thanks SJ.
FYI - my IHG points are pretty consistently worth 0.6c each.
Most are getting 34x w/ aspire card and 21x w/ brilliant card therefore the value per point are becoming less since everyone has so many points and also many have diamond or platinum status making it almost worthless for upgrades.
I went independent years ago when CSR went to 10x UR (transferable to Hyatt) and now AA Exec is 10x plus.

IHG just devalued points this week again.

yea there is a thread on flyertalk about it, UK got hit hard with a seemingly 30-50% increase, SE Asia around 10%, North America varies but most are seeing 5-15%
Europe for example from the flyertalk thread
For a random day in June 2025.
IC AMS was 102.000, now 120.000
Kimpton AMS was 50.000 now 78.333
Voco The Hague was 32.000 now 48.500
Indigo The Hague was 37.000 now 46.500
HIX Rotterdam was 27.000 now 35.000

I did a real quick check and went to the web site for the Holiday Inn Express we stayed at a few weekends ago. My Sunday night stay was 27,000 points and for every $30 cash, it reduced the points by 5,000 (thus my valuation of 0.6 cpp). Now a Sunday night is 30,000 but with the same reduction of 5,000 points per $30 cash. So, 27,000 to 30,000 is an 11% jump. But I'm not sure if that's because of the new devaluation of points or just because it's a slightly different time of year?

The cents valuation of hotel points will vary largely depending on location + time of year, though it's known that Hilton points are worth less than both Marriott & Hyatt.
I guess it matters more if you travel often, but personally I don't and just got the decent Surpass SUB.
If I'm not mistaken, Marriott points are also worth less than a penny.

I find Marriott is about the same value as Hilton now. Also, gold status is useless for both.
The only way to get more value is booking 5 nights as the 5th night is free, this goes for Hilton (4th or 5th?), Marriott and I think IHG.
