Re: I Finally Applied For Amex Gold

Right, but in my situation, with all of the anxiety of being approved, if I had gone big and got denied I would have never known that I could have gotten the regular gold. Over the course of the year the difference between the two for me will be negligible, but the 25k bonus hurts, that's like $250 cash.

Yeah, that's true.  I agree with you here, especially if you had been declined.

Right, the 25K bonus would have been very nice.  It'll give you a nice little boost on your MR program.

I doubt there is a difference. All of the cards after green are npsl, so if you get a green with npsl why wouldn't they approve you for a gold/pr gold/platinum card? The spending limit ends up being exactly the same for each of the cards and you are just paying for extra benefits.

Re: I Finally Applied For Amex Gold

because with the PR Gold, they are giving away free money.  If they don't think I am in a financial situation to spend 30k+ on the card, why give me a $250 bonus when they can deny me and make me settle for the regular where they don't give away anything other than waiving the fee.  Noone will ever know...I'm happy.
