After reading this thread I think I am going to app for the old Blue Cash next year. It would be great since I average 400-600 a month in groceries. And about $150 in gas a month maybe more.
just an friendly reminder you don't get 5% till you spend 6.5k i think it is first.

its better to do it in December than January if you aren't a current AMEX card holder, doing it in December locks in your 2014 membership date, if you do it in January will give you a 2015 membership date thus costing you a full year of backdating goodness even if its the difference between December 29th and January 1st.
Yeah I'd be spending right under that 6k mark so probably wouldn't do a lot for me.
The all year 2% on gas with the BCE is nice, though like I said groceries since I don't shop at the stores they list, the 3% wouldn't do a lot for me. And I already have the 1% on my discover it.
But still between the BCE and the Everyday. Applying tonight or tomorrow

If you are going to be doing any traveling at all then I would say go for ED. MR points are worth nearly 2 points per cent, and ED is only card out there thats an no AF card that can trasnfer to airline partners.
I'm not yet, probably not at least another year or two but I could start adding up points for when I go for prg and sit on those points yeah?

yes ED has bonus spending for gas and groceries so you can start accumulating points that way. Hopefully next year you will be targeted for an 50 or 75k offer with PRG

Well actually if you make 25 say gas transactions a month wouldn't be like 2% anyways ? because it is 1% for the gas and then points you earned is 20% more?
