Just had an unsuccessful chat!  The exec office upgraded the rewards on my Platinum Visa (to the 1% + 0.5% from a flat 1.25%)  It says Platinum Visa on the account.  Ididn't want a new card as I have a personalized one, but I thought it would be good to make it a Visa Signature (it has a $30K CL).  Rep just kept saying that he would show me how to check for special offers, and if I had been approved it would show on my statement.  I explained several times that this was the first time I had asked, so I wasn't waiting to check for prior approval etc, but I guess he was on script.

I finally asked if I should contact the EO, he said yes, and he would have helped if he could.  That's nice.....

Definitely on script - that was literally the exact chat I just had. I guess I'll be calling the execs again. I just hate to bother them for something so small, after how much they helped me. Oh well.

For future reference, don't paste the names in from the chats, it makes the mods angry xD 

Also, when it comes to the "Chat Now" option, I find my best bet is to do it a few times, and eventually you'll get someone helpful. Although I don't think this is how customer service should work, with many companies, that tends to be how it does work. Best of luck to all of you. 

@Also @bs6054 - Your account number will stay the same, so you will be able to use your personalized card until it expires. You can also re-personalize your card using the card lab once it expires. Just because they send you the jimmy fallon card doesn't mean you can no longer make your own. Good Luck! Also, depending on what card you have, if you have a mastercard they might not change it to visa sig, but they may change it to WMC. If you have a visa, just keep hounding them till it gets done.

UPDATE to my attempt on this product conversion:

They cannot convert it because the limit is too low. Explanation given on the phone:

The Cash Rewards Card (no Fee version) and Venture both require a minimum limit of $5,000 because of the class of Visa card they are (signature level). The lower level Cash rewards with the AF requires about $2500 or so. My limit on the Platinum is only $1500. The PC is based on the current limit. So an insufficient limit automatically blocks a PC attempt.They said that future reviews on the account will lift the limit and then be eligible for PC consideration. So, I asked for a limit increase to $5000. Denied.  I will be getting a letter in the mail explaining. hahaha. I wasn't seriously expecting an approval for that but it was worth a try. He apologized for the inconvenience and feels the system doesn't always keep up with people who rapidly improve their credit but that it will come.

However, seeing that I already have had a Spark (Visa Signature) for over 7 months now, he found it a little puzzling that the system hasn't picked up on this as some sort of red flag in terms of my Platinum limit not getting a serious bump up from $1500...especially in light of well over a year of perfect payment history on the Plat.

Oh well. I'll just be patient. It's not a big deal. Sooner or later, Cap1 will catch up with me on this.

Yes, it is a Visa, but I can't really justify spending much effort in getting it changed to a sig.  I never use the Signature features on my other Sig cards, and am currently hardly using this Cap One cards as rewards are lower than my other cards.  But maybe one day!

I got my CL bumped to 5k and added 1.5% rewards to my card.  Will they upgrade me to a WMC?  I tried asking through online chat and I wanted to bang my head on a wall.

Don't know yet - I talked to my exec rep, and she said it would mean yet another product change, and she would get back to me in a few days, possibly after Christmas.  I told her no rush, and will post my results.

Depending on your results I might wait a little bit and try for the bump to 10K and request the upgrade then.

ZTNJPV, the csr was wrong. The minimum limit for a VISA SIGNATURE card is $5,000, but the minimum limit for the visa version (no AF) cash rewards card is $3,000.you just get a visa plat instead of siggy. It says so right on the website. It lists the minimum credit limit for every card on the card's T&C page.
