I would like Citi in my wallet

So my BK was discharged December of 2020. (Chapter 7)Since then I have a Navy federal cc flagship 12k capital one 1,450, Walmart cc at 1k.Discover Chrome at $5700, Discover Miles at 4K GM cc at $2500 Apple at 4k mercury at 4k Lowe's 1k  Pay Pal at $1800. I know not to try for Amex or Chase but I'm curious on my chances with Citi. Thanks in advance for any input as it's strongly appreciated 🙏

my credit utilization is under 10 percent I would love an Amazon card but I know I can't but definitely would love a cosco Citi if I can get one

you already have a $1800 PPMC or a PPC, any reason to think you wouldn't be approved for an Amazon store card?

Also, any reason you want the Citi Costco card? You'll get 2% with your flagship same as the costco card, do you want/need a 3-5% gas card?

Re: I would like Citi in my wallet

I know I burned chase and considered that they run Amazon didn't want to waste a hard pull. I drive about 130k miles a year so yea that gas park is what I was hoping for

there's the Chase Amazon Visa and the Synchrony Amazon store card, same 5% on amazon, just in store card form.

as for gas:

Citi Custom Cash 5% on $500/month

Abound CU 5% uncapped

Sam's Club MC, 5% $6k/year

Costco 4% $7k/year

Redstone 5% $7k/year (if you try here, wait for a pre-approval don't apply blind)

How much gas is 130k miles a year? Perhaps some sort of business gas card/fleet card might be more in line with your needs, but that is well beyond anything I know about.

as for personal cards, i'd probably pay the membership for sam's club and try their pre-qualification tool

it's synchrony and you're already in with them with your paypal credit product but I doubt $6k/year will cover it, nor will $7k/year unless I'm bad at math, so you'll need different solutions anyway

Re: I would like Citi in my wallet

I like that Citi custom cash, just afraid to take on a hard inquiry. With being 4 months shy of 3 years discharged what do you believe my chances are?

I'm impressed you have American Express, that's another bucket list for me to get back but I know will take 6 more years lol, plus I burned them for quite a bit. Thanks for all your sites you shared

Don't waste your time and the HPs with Citibank.   They usually double pull.  I did not burn them and got declined for the Costco card five years post-discharge with a huge and perfect rebuild.  They even declined me the first time I applied for a secured card and when I finally got it, instead of graduating in 18 months as they state upfront, they said they wanted another year.   I had over $200K in new revolving limits by that time and just closed it.   Citi is NOT Bk friendly.   They told me they will "consider you" at 7 years but I wouldn't hold my breath.

AMEX is 5 years and one month if you didn't burn them.   You said you burned them for a lot so you are looking at a minimum of 10 years and maybe forever.

Re: I would like Citi in my wallet

Thanks for heads up, what cards do you think I can concentrate on. I have the income to support the revolving cc I just need time before I can get navy up to a much better CL. You think Wells Fargo or have other options in mind? Currently I'm low 700s across the board with a low DTI and credit utilization less then 10 percent

thsnks in advance

Hey there @Rebirth

Looks like you are hoping for a new card with the highest fuel perks?

At 130,000 miles with say 40 mpg, you consume 3,250 gallons.  At $4.00 per gallon, your annual fuel spend is $13,000 or about $1083 monthly

The Custom Cash maxes the 5% at $500 per month.
