Inquiry Question

Hypothetically let's say a person does 2 hard pull inquiries for let's say Capital One and Barclay. What's the proper time frame to wait before doing any more hard pull inquiries for any credit card companies?

There really isnt a set answer as eveything depends on the individual and their credit file.  Generally though 2 inquiries isnt going to prevent you from applying for more credit right away and getting more inquiries.

You're very welcome and good luck if you opt to apply.

Re: Inquiry Question

Another thing to keep in mind is not every credit card company is going to pull the same report.

Using your example above, CapitalOne and Barclay - Barclay might pull TransUnion while CapitalOne might pull Equifax.

So in this hypothetical example, even though you have two HP's total, Barclay would never know CapitalOne pulled you and vice-versa.

Re: Inquiry Question

Thank you! Does anyone know which credit bureau US Bank and PNC Bank pulls from? Also, what's a number of too many inquiries for a credit report?

Re: Inquiry Question

The number of too many inquiries varies by report. There's no real answer to that question. Each lender has different criteria and UW for their products; hence, while x amount of inquiries may be too many for, say, Citibank, it may not be too many (or they may not even care) for, say, Capital One. (Just using examples, not that I know actual facts about these two)

As others have mentioned, every lender is different with regard to number of inquiries.

As for your question regarding the CRAs that are queried by specific CC issuers - these can be dependent on where you are in the US. I would recommend that you consider looking at the Credit Pulls Database (which is the first hit from Google when searched). From there, you can look up which CRA is often pulled by issuer and state, as well as scores that were approved/declined.
