Work with what you have now. Worry about the other cards later on down the road.
Establish the credit and 180-360 days from now. Then think about getting another card.

If you focus simply on the look of the card and just apply for everything that looks even remotely pretty, you're going to crash and burn. Credit cards are financial tools, not works of art. Apply sparingly.

+1. I wouldn't waste anymore time with this one. People have to be operating at a minimum level before they can be helped, and this is true in other areas of life as well.
The sad part is that there are many "college students" who actually talk and think like this. I know because I expel quite a few of them at the end of every semester.

Think he's just trolling. It's hard to be this dense.

Yes, although I'm only able to teach one class a year now and that's much less than it used to be. The vast majority of my time is spent on administrative functions these days, but I've tried really hard to hang on to that one.
Students who are in trouble for academic reasons usually see their Dean or Chair first, and then I just have to sign off on it afterwards. Major disciplinary issues end up coming straight to my desk and I'll deal with it directly (or delegate it to someone if I don't have the time). Regardless of the reason, all explusions pass through me at some point. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.
Speaking of dense, one of the admin ladies who works for me was in total disbelief at a student last week.
Admin Lady: In order to process that, I need to get some information from you first. What's your date of birth?
Student: I dunno, where do I find that information?
Admin Lady: ...
