Is it possible to have 2 Macys AMEX cards at the same time?

So I currently have two Macys cards. One is the store card version, and one is the Amex version. The store card currently sits at $25,000 and the Amex version at $16,500. When logging in today on the store card version I am greeted with the upgrade offer below. Like any good and prudent MyFico'er I of course chose to accept it. At the end of the process it tells me that within the next 7-10 days I will be receiving the upgraded card.

Will they really give me another Amex version card? If so, has this happened to anyone? I am also curious to see if I am able to combine the lines to create one $41,000 Macys Amex card?

It's likely that once the upgrade is effective, they won't likely combine them. Although, you'll be sporting two Macy's AmEx accounts separately.  You can always ask them (once your upgraded account is active/displayed on line) and see what they say.

Thanks for the feedback. As a DP for the community, this morning the new Macys Amex card is already showing up in my app so now I have two Macys Amex cards. Regarding combining them into one single card, I called and was told that no, can't be done. Oh well, no harm done, I will take it regardless!

It was a long shot, but typically if you have 2 Citi DSNB or Retail [duplicate] cards, limits cannot be combined.   Good DPs for the community regardless 👍
