Like if I have my checking or HYSA account at PNC Bank and I link this as payment source for my capital one credit card...can capital one withdraw/take funds if I miss payments? (always pay in full on-time every time but who knows what life can throw at you)
What if CC/deposit accounts are at same bank? For example, deposit account from Chase paying Chase credit card.
Do they need some kind of court judgment against you?
I have been researching this and "right of setoff" banks have...and still confused.
Thanks

From what I have read (which is different from what actually might be the case), with the right of set off, they can certainly take money owed without notice (and without a court order). But the rules for credit card debt seem to differ between banks and credit unions. CUs can use the right of set off to take funds to settle overdue credit card debts but banks cannot.
