for anyone who's a habitual JCrew shopper, is their credit card worth it? Do they offer frequent 20% off by using their card during checkout and do they run promos to earn points quickly like the banana republic card? Thanks!

Nope basically a worthless card for overpriced cheap clothing imho.. Use to have card during rebuild and spent alot at jcrew during that time for cheap clothing in my opinion reward structure at time stunk or didnt exist as cant really remember any benefit of card other than a decent CL

Slightly different perspective from me... For the record, the main reason I have the JCrew card is also because of the nice CL that I got while I was rebuilding.
But, if you are already a JCrew shopper, its a good card. But like every other "name brand," you have to be careful what you buy. I find that certain categories of clothing are far higher quality than others. Wait for the discount codes in your email and you can get some pretty good prices that are equal to what you'd pay at Kohl's, but for better quality. Again, certain categories.
For as infrequently as I buy, the frequent extra discount for using the JCrew card and the $20 birthday gift make it worthwhile having.

We have a 7 year old that is small and their clothes fit him the best. He said that's his store so the card comes in handy. I shop the sales there and always get good deals.
I have a $25k+ limit JCrew card that I occassionally buy socks or a shirt with =).
It was built over time starting at $250 limit using SCT when I was rebuilding after a 2012 BK, with nearly monthly CLI requests until I stopped a while back. Not sure how high it could go but at this point it's a nice $25k DTI buffer that I do not want to jeopardize by asking for more.
I use it a couple times a year generally, they offer a birthday bonus and points from purchases. So it's great for a DTI help or not bad if you plan to use a lot for the JCrew rewards and PIF after purchase. You would not want to carry a balance though, rate would be crazy high.
So Needed? No, Handy? Sure
