Juniper oddity - update Jan 2nd

As part of our family financial strategy, DW applied on line for a Juniper card.  Early this year I applied and was given instant approval with a TU FICO of 780+.  The last time we pulled DWs TU, it was 800+, and her lowest current FICO is 758 (Dear EX  Smiley Sad ).

Result - the dreaded 7-10 days.  Interesting.  The only reason I can think of is that she put down the truth - self employed - and that raised a question mark, or possibly that I already have a Junny card

But we will see.

She put me down as an AU, it was definitely AU, and they asked for my SS#, also interesting.

I will be pulling my reports later to see if I got a Hard pull!

The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Re: Juniper oddity

Junny is getting a little odd.  I had my son as AU on one of my accounts and he is was 13.  Separate card number but not  peep for his SSN.  Keep us posted.

Re: Juniper oddity

I'm self employed and they took me in...
Though I called and spoke to someone and was reviewed on the spot.
I mailed in the app instead of online.

I only had a 700 and I still had a negative account on my report at the time.

They did feel obligated to lower my limit right when I did a balance transfer...because of inquiries (4 from them alone)...so I don't really have anything positive to say about them right now.

But it shouldn't be because of self employment.

Re: Juniper oddity

MV: With 800 ficos, why are you both getting Juny?!!!!

Especially since they are notorious for pulling 3 hards?

I would go for the 800 elite cards -- Merrill+ offers 50k CL for 800 fico!

When did Junny start pulling three hards?  I have had two cards issued by them and NEVER got 3 hards.

Now that IS a bit much, for a creditor to b*tch about excessive inquiries when they put them there! Smiley Tongue

Not sure, might be a recent trend, saw a couple of posts regarding juny - maybe an AA related pulls but still read tons and tons on their absurd CLDs and even closures and "suficient CL" messages accross a variety of high-end score spectrum even.
