Thanks for the advice guys. If waiting just 2 more weeks (to reach >30 days since my CSP approval) means I will likely get instant approval and no credit limit reallocation, I'll just do that. If after waiting those 30 days I will still need to reallocate credit from my CSP, I might as well apply now. Does anyone know for sure or has anyone had a similar experience?

Waiting 30 days means nothing. You won't get instant approval anyway since Chase gave you your max credit limit on your first approval. You can get another card from them right away by allocating the limits but you won't get more then $15K in limits combined no matter how long you wait. In the future, of course when your credit picture improves even further, Chase will be able to give you more then $15K combined, but as of now and probably for another year or so, that's it.

This is exactly what I was told by CSR.  I could allocate limits, but all totaled it was the same CL amount. Smiley Indifferent

Is that $100 cash back and 0% APR deal the best one out right now? I seem to recall seeing $250 or $350 deals before.

Another newbie question: is there any way to avoid a hard inquiry from happening when I apply for the Freedom card? For instance, can they use the report from 2 weeks ago when I applied for the CSP?

$100 cash back/ 10.000 points is the best as of now. $300, $250, $200 all have expired.

Chase never did that for me. Every new application with Chase require new credit pull.

Ahh, so $300 was the best ever? Too bad. How long ago did they expire?

As far as I know, every new application requires a credit pull...  When I apped Chase, it took two pulls, one on TU for initial decline, 1 on EX for recon.

Re: Just rec'd CSP, too soon to app for Freedom?

Just spoke to someone in our credit department and they confirmed there's no way around another hard inquiry. I was also told that the 10 and 10 deal for Chase Checking + Freedom might not work for me because I plan to transition my Chase checking to J.P. Morgan checking, and the 10 and 10 is specifically for the retail/Chase checking accounts. Bah. Maybe I'll just sit tight and wait for something better than $100 to come along.
