Keeping UR points until I get the CSR? Good idea?

I currently have around 80,000 Chase UR points and I have the Freedom, Freedom Unlimited and CSP.

I know that with the CSP, it makes the return of the Freedom to 6.25% return and the Freedom Unlimited to 1.875%. If I were to wait to use up any points for travel, would that essentially turn my points that I accumulate from my Freedom and Freedom Unlimited to 7.5% and 2.25%?

I know that I'm missing out on the 3X travel and dining but I have to wait because of 5/24 and apply for the CSR after having it for a year. Would that work by saving the points?

I would really like to get the CSR but I am over 5/24 Smiley Sad

You will get more value out of transferring your points to airline/hotel partners. Since you already have the CSP, there's no need to wait.

So basically the only time I would see more value (the percentages I listed above) if I were to redeem UR through UR portal for travel?

Correct.  1.5 vs 1.25 but as indicated above, you will achieve much higher value if you use them with travel partners and you can do that with the CSP exactly as you can with the CSR.

I would say keep the UR points. They are incredibly valuable. Even at 1.25% it's still a good deal. However, if you want to maxmize you'll need to start transferring some of those points to partners. I mostly use BA Avios (very valuable for short haul flights), United, Kris Flyer Sianoore (35k round trip to Hawaii from east coast on UA metal), and Hyatt. I've also been using a lot of random travel rewards, such as some ultra cheap frontier flights using the air Portal @ 1.5%. If you travel a lot and like to use points UR is the best currency, in my opinion.

5/24 is terrible ... we recently switched over to Chase for banking and investing. Not Private Client yet, but interesting my wife and I are both targeted for the CSP, freedom, Freedom unlimited, etc on our offers on the Chase page. This is reportedly exempt from 5/24....

You may want to consider opening a chase retail banking product, not sure if that actually helps but we are both getting targeted offers since switching and we are way over 5/24.

You will get more value transferring to airline partners if you want to travel internationally in business or first.  I just transferred 160k to United to fly EVA busuiness for me and my mom to fly to Thailand from JFK thru taipei.  To me that is a pretty good value much better then going thru UR portal imo.
