Re: LOWES

From reading other posts on this forum, people seem generally happy with this CC.  I think they run a lot of no interest for 12 month type deals, which could help if you need to get something big.

I know it is not much info, but it is what I got.

Starting Score: 583 EQ, 612 EX, 569 TU
Current Score: 658 EQ, 648 EX, 618 TU
Goal Score: 720 EQ, 720 EX, 720 TU

Re: LOWES

ashabbir, if you don't mind my asking, you seem to be app'ing for a huge amount of cards (and getting quite a few!) Aren't you going to get killed with inquiries on your credit scores? And I have read elsewhere of people who were approved for a lot of new cards, but once their new credit card companies saw how many they had, some cards were cancelled. I'd hate to see that happen to you, since you've been having success with your applications.

Hope you don't mind my worried noises!

Re: LOWES

I read somewhere that just Juniper usually closes your account if you open so many accounts at the same time.

Re: LOWES

I agree--it might well have been Juniper. I have no idea about WaMu--I had never ever heard of them before joining these forums.

Yep, been there said that! I kept saying that right up to #25!

I've had them all for about 4-6 months now and have already closed 3 due to "Appliers Remorse". I've kinda killed my Avg account age but the scores are still pretty good.

While I love my Lowes card, unless you have a real use for it - stop while you're ahead!

I honestly wasn't expecting this many approvals, as it turns out the ONLY denial I got was PenFed and they were one of the first I'd applied for.

I think it was worth it for me. I do a lot of buying at Lowe's and Home Depot, so it only made sense for me to get their cards, use them, pay them off each month, let them report, and hopefully increase my credit score. And of course its good to have store accounts in your mix of cards. Lowe's is provided by GEMB. They pulled my EQ report and I had a 720 at the time. All in all, I like the card, nothing bad to say about it.

Re: LOWES

For those who have a Lowes card....

I worked CS there for a few years.  If home depot is ever advertising a financing sale and lowes isn't, but you are wanting to buy something at lowes.... go to the customer service desk and ask if they will give you the promo.  Mention that Home depot has it.  99.9% of the time you will be granted it.  CS may have to call Home depot to verify, though.  (They may also have to call a manager..... when CS calls the card co, we have to give them the manager's name)

Another thing if you shop at lowes quite a bit...... make sure that if you have a promo for 6mo (or 12) and another regular balance.... that your payments will be applied to the regular balance first.  I know there were a few angry people who were paying over the min payment and half would go to the 12 mo no financing and the other half would go to the regular payment.   (making you pay more in interest).

Just a few things to keep in mind.....
