Re: LOWES

Who handles Home Depot? I know Lowe's is handled by GEMb. We have both in our area, but usually go to h.d. because they are in our immediate neighborhood .

Re: LOWES

Home Depot has both a store card and a rewards Mastercard. Both are handled by Citi. A bit less scary than GEMB, IMO!Smiley Wink

Re: LOWES

I bought one thing that qualified for a 6 month no interest promo but I paid it off right away last month. They just mailed me a letter a week ago thanking me for using their promo and gave me a coupon for 12 months no payments no interest that was able to be reused for 1 week. Best part about the coupon was there was no minimum amount like their normal $299 minimum. I went in 1 day and bought like $200 worth of stuff then went back the next day and got $20 worth!

This was Lowe's, right? Love the store (more than Home Depot, in fact), but very leery of GEMB. I guess the smart thing to do is do like you did and PIF right away, and keep an eye on the statements.

Re: LOWES

Whenever I need something or the home I go to Lowes but will not have their card.  GEMB is by far the worst creditor I have in my wallet and will be closing them as soon as WallyWorld hits two years and Dillards hits 6 mos. I want to get something out of them besides a score hit.

Their websites are crappy and I could go on and on.  Will NOT be doing backflips for anything they offer.  Would rather pay interest.

Just the other day got a cash back offer on my Wally World card for gas.  Mind you this was an offer that popped up after I logged into my oline account.  After talking to a million reps was told they had no idea of what I wastalking about and then told me that was offered only on the Discover.  Keep in mind this was under my card's special offers and I do not have a discover.  Hadn't used that danged Wally World card in months the only reason I dusted it off wasforthe gas.  Now it will report activefor no good reasonSmiley Mad

Re: LOWES

Not to be argumentative, but I guess one person's scorn is another person's praise. I think that's true for many of us who have the variety of cc's that we all have.

I love my J.C.Penny cc(serviced by GEMb). The website is easy for me to navigate and see what I want to see. Plus they've given me rather yummy cli's in the past year I've had it, from $300 in Oct. 2006, to today, with $1,500 cl.

I personally don't like Junipers, or Chevron/Texaco's, and the worst is Victoria's Secret(serviced by WFNNBB, or what ever they are called. ugghhh) websites. But that is just me.

LOL!!  Guess so... foir me the standard starter limit for a Dillards (I app'd online understand you get more if you app in store) card is laughable.  What can you buy in Dillards for 200.00?  My son got what we old folks call a warm up jacket for 80.00 and to complete the outft would have caused me to go over the card limit.  This is Dillards, not WallyWorld. (Please don't think I dress him like this all the time but I figure since Dad does his part he gets one or two cool outfits a year).

That plus the fact that when you make payments, no matter HOW you pay, they put a 21 day hold on the funds.  So if I wanted to complete the outfit it would take a min of 30 days by which time the jacket would no longer match the pants for wear.  Who holds electronic ACH payments for 21 days?

On the occasion I have had to visit the site, there was the requirement of knowing the secret handshake to get to your account info since the normal ways never did work.  But those are the only two GEMB cards I have or ever will have.  Unless of course they buy my current cards which will probably have the limits lowered to 200.00.

I have had my WallyWorld card for two years come Dec.  Started out at a 190.00 limit.  didn't complain.  But after two years of PIF'ing a limit just under 600.00 is ridiculous.  Maybe I should pay them some of that 22% interest...UHUH...lol!!!
