Large CLD from Sync

Credit Karma alerted me of a CLD on Rakuten card, from $15K to $5024.  My last payment was Oct 2020.   So looking for a good title for a post: "Beware the evil Satanic scum of Sync"?   Or is that too mild?

Re: Large CLD from Sync

"Synchrony auto-CLD'd my sockdrawered card" would be more accurate.    The new CL ending in "24" is the tipoff.

Historically if you called in and spoke to a CSR you could get the entire limit restored as a one-off.  No idea if they have changed their policy since the feds started keeping close tabs on their loss reserves.

The title should be ALL IN CAPS.

@longtimelurker - The xx24 is indicative of a non-activity CLD.  You can reach out to the Credit Solutions team to see about having it restored -- if you wish to have the original limit and/or will be using the card more frequently.  Otherwise, it sounds like you did not miss much since it wasn't a fairly active card since 2020 🤷‍♂️

Yes, I know!  Should have included some smileys in my OP, I was being (I thought) not so subtly disrespectful of the "AVOID/PSA!!!" type posts, that are indeed in all caps as @AverageJoesCredit notes!

You haven't been using the card for 15 months and it's their fault?

I thought Rakuten was da bomb at that time, lots of stacked points earning? Or did that change?

It's all good 😊 I know you're no fan of emojis 😂

So, what do you plan on doing with the card? Leave the limit as is or get it restored?

I'm surprised it lasted this long without closure! One of mine got a CLD (during 2020) and then eventually closed for inactivity. For sure I was thinking you'd be using your Rakuten CC a bit more.
