student loans i don't think can exceed 7%
also annipoo my only non interest card right now is amex for only $2k
my loan is $4,300 and the only card that could pay that off is my nfcu card but it isn't interest free. also i planned to just pay $100 a month for like 4 years and call it good lol
I just checked. Mine are at 3.1%. I owe about $5,500. My goal is to have it paid off by next summer. If my Discover had a larger CL, I would have put the balance on it today, and used the 0% promo that I have going until next June. I guess I will pay it down until I get to the last 1000 or so, then pay that with my Discover and ride out the no interest deal. I think I will still be saving some on interest that way. Maybe the Discover train will come back around and give me a big CLI so I can get this done early!!
I can't handle being in debt. It seriously drives me crazy. I don't have any debt other than this loan. Once the loan is paid off, I will start saving for a move... I'm thinking Wyoming. Then debt for a house, but no other debt. I just hate feeling like I owe anyone anything.
If you set up recurring payments thru the 3rd party site Anni mentioned, you can get cash back on your credit card, even if it is only 1-2%. Just pay what you can PIF each month, so the APR is a non-factor. The fees are only about 1-3%....they seem to vary.

i still owe $19,500 on my vehicle so idc at this point. i haven't made 3 payments on that student loan in the 6 years i have had it lol. made one last month and hope to keep doing it. if not oh well i will defer it idc lol
How are you able to defer it for so long still in school? Forberance only last so long as well.. wow only 3 payments in 6 years, isnt the interest getting tacked in to the end of loan and you owe more than original amt now? If you SL is exceeding original amount of loans lender at some point willl look negatively at this, just sometihng to keep in mind. Not saying that is your case, but known many that it has happened to

well i keep deferring it. it reports paid as agreed since i got it i think. also it's like $400 over the original loan amount. been contemplating getting aLOC to pay it off but it'll be more interest but my motivation to pay off the student loan is virtually non existent.
So not in school? Not sure how you are eligible for a student loan .. Very weird.. So not forbearance, but deferment..Weird

I remember when trying to pay by phone with Sallie Mae, it was a $15 fee. I tried Navient over the phone and made my payment wiithout a fee. Wish i knew this. Now, i will be paying over the phone and add an additional $150 to my spending...woo hoo!
You can also do SDG&E as well with a credit card online. Im in san diego california.
Hope this helps others and sorry if someone already posted it.
So in order to pay with a credit card you need to call in? No internet option?
