@Anonymous wrote:Does anybody know the process of paying Navient using Serve? I see they have Navient and Navient Private Loan listed. First of all, I don't know what biller to choose. I have Department of Education loans and regular governemnt loans. Secondly, is just putting the account number in all that's required? On the statement it says to send an invoice or something like that. Any help is much appreceiated.
Unless you are using amex I wouldn't pay with serve, because you can pay with other credit cards directly to navient (you do this via phone not online). In terms of which navient to send payments to does it show the address when you are doing the setup? If so, you just look at your invoice and see where it says to send it and make sure the addresses match. Once you have that the account number is enough. I've used serve to pay other student loans thta do not accept direct credit card payment.
Here's why I ask about Serve:
1. Apparently, there is no longer the option to pay over the phone via automated system. You have to actually talk to somebody. That I dread.
2. I also hear they only let you pay the minimum, and I pay more than the minimum amount.
3. And it doesn't show an address, that's why I asked.

When did this change occur? I made a payment ten days ago and this was not the case. Yes, you can only pay the minimum. Also, unless you are using the old version of serve you need to use an amex. You will not get points by loading serve with an amex card, so if that was the goal then that is something to take in to consideration. I believe you can still meet min spend with it though.
Dang. I don't know what you are doing different than me. Becasue everytime I call it simply says the automated system is unable to process payments by credit card.

I have no idea. I just call the number and select the option to make a payment and it gives me the option to pay with a credit card. When did you try?

I just called navient to check and the option to pay with a credit card is still available to me.
Yup. Just called back at this number: 888-272-5543. And the automated system will not let me pay via credit card. It says to speak to a rep. What number are you calling?

I don't have it in front of me. I simply go to the website, log in and click contact us now and get the number from there. Maybe your loans are different somehow. I have no idea.
Yeah, perhaps so. Oh well.
