Don't feel bad. I've had my Mercury card for 3yrs and 7months now. Got it 9 months after BK7 filing with a SL of $3k. In 2021 around 8 months in, I got one small credit line increase of $550 and it has since remained the same despite usage and payments in full. Not sweating them anyways.

Re: Mercury credit card

I got my Mercury card about 1 month after my discharge and it started with a $3K limit. About 6 months later I got an auto CLI of $350 to $3350 and that's where it still sits 3 years later.

Mercury is sort of a weird card in that they have to invite you, and you can't just apply for it.

But completely unlike the AmEx Centurion, Mercury is mostly looking for people fresh out of bankruptcy that don't have other realistic choices, and within the post-bankruptcy cards Mercury is not utter crap.

But it is what it is. If you can get cards from a name brand bank that have better rewards, why would you care about a Mercury unless you get an offer for the no annual fee one that has 5% on groceries and gas. That one would still interest me even all these years later, but 1% isn't doing anything for me at this point. I can fall on my face and get a better card than that from at least half a dozen major banks.

They have offered a 5% on groceries and gas card to at least some people, and if Mercury says you get a card, you know before you apply that you'll get it. Apparently they think that floating 1% might still get my attention and they're wrong.

Re: Mercury credit card

I'm running 750s across the board, never a baddie or a BK, 11% util., 1/6, 3/12 on new accounts, $25,900 TCL on $21,500 income and Mercury sent me 3 mailers last week offering "Pre-Approved Credit Line Starting at $4,000". I have no sub-prime cards (never bothered with them). Mercury's madness is more perplexing than Capital One's...

offered a starting credit limit of $4500 with 1% cashback and no annual fee. I jumped on it. I currently only use it as my designated Amazon purchase card so it should get a few thousand dollars worth of usage a year. They have also aligned with Amazon and from what I'm told, when you earn points, they show up on the Amazon website for easy redemption. My card is too new to confirm this. So far, it seems like a very good card and I will likely keep it after my rebuild just because the starting limit was so high and they took a chance on me.

Re: Mercury credit card

I received an offer for a $5K SL about a year ago so I jumped on it. I hardly use the card because I figure it will hardly grow.
