Merrick Bank Letter

So yesterday i recieved a letter from Merrick Bank...i was excited at first because i thought it was going to be about my first CLI with them since i have been with them for about 8 months...always PIF and on time...but to my surprise the letter was a warning that if i open too many new tradelines, they could be forced to close my account. I have opened about 4 new accounts in the past six months...including Discover. Did not know Merrick bank was sensetive about its customers opening too many accounts.

and  thats exactly what they are going to get now...lol. Unfortunately, they break down the annual fee in monthly installments so will have to make a 4 or 6 dollar payment every month but thats all the will get from me until i get my second prime card, then i will close the account...their APR on my card is 26% (my highest by far out of all my credit cards, including my store and gas cards).

I personally think it completely sad how they just take advantage of ppl

I got that same letter one and half years with them, use to be a hooters card. I think they were mad to see American Express and USAA.

did u ever get a CLI from them after that letter? Im pretty sure i will not be getting and increase from them for a while now (my current limit is 650).

I got one before the letter from 500 to 750.

well at least you got one...lol. I dont think this card will ever grow with me. I have read some people saying their are pretty good when they give auto cli (they dont do request cli at all). I know someone who has had them for 5 years and limit is 4700 considering he started out at 350. Oh well.

haha...so after receiving a letter from them a couple of months ago about warning me of opening too many accounts...i logged in today and got an auto CLI of 200. Way to go Merrick Bank! I guess its better than nothing and actually surprised after receiving a warning later a couple of months ago.
