Multiple Citi Cards

How long between new Citi accounts before you can get another account?  I just got the Rewards+ card about a month and a half ago.  I wanted to app for the Costco card but not sure how long I will need to wait? Anyone in-the-know on this?

Re: Multiple Citi Cards

1/8 and 2/65 is the last I knew. So you're probably in the clear to do so if those rules are the same.

Re: Multiple Citi Cards

IMO, I would wait it out the 6 months that they like to see. It gives you time to use the card and allow for them to get to know you and your spend. Thus benefiting your next app with them, in additon to improving your score. Apping too soon can often just add another card with fairly low limits. Unless you got a decent SL with the Rewards+ card.

Re: Multiple Citi Cards

I just got two Citi AA cards fifteen days apart. My 6th Citi in last year. Go for it.

Re: Multiple Citi Cards

The widely known rule is 8/65, which are no more than 1 app in 8 days and no more than 2 in 65 days. Since this would only be your second app in a couple months you would be fine. Doesn't mean it is necessarily the right time to app depending to the rest of your profile, but as far as actual app restrictions you are fine.

Re: Multiple Citi Cards

Just an fyi I appd for 4 citi cards within 12 days and approved for all 4. I had 1 inquiry from Chase a year ago January 2018. These were all approved in February 2019. And they pulled EX, EQ for me. My scores if I recall were EQ 700+ and EX 650+. These were FICO 8 scores. Good luck go for it.

Now, that's possible if 2 were DSNB like your HD card.  The co-brands that show under DSNB don't fall under the same rules for UW / Approvals.  So, if you PC'd one of your R+, DC, Simplicity from something else that would make sense.... especially since R+ hasn't been around that long.

You definitely slipped through the UW cracks there. Your thick file probably had something to do with that.
