Re: Must Have Card

There's really no one card that is suitable for everyone.

High / low limits depends mostly on your income and credit report.

What are you looking for? Just a high initial CL? Travel rewards? Cashback? Low APR?

Re: Must Have Card

Can you define what you regard as high? 200k CL? 50k? 20k? 5k?

It honestly depends on your CR and income. Some cards have minimum 5k CL but they will just decline you if they do not think you qualify for a 5k CL

High Limit

Well your best bet for high limits is usually a CU. If you qualify for NFCU, they're quite generous. Alternately, most Amex cards can grow to large limits thanks to the 3x CLI. You can even break past 25k if you're prepared to present your tax documents for income verification.

Prior to my CLI from Amex, Chase gave me my highest limit, but I'd had previous accounts with Chase and do my checking with them, so that may have influenced their decision to give me a larger CL than my other cards.

Re: Must Have Card

If your income and CR supports a 50k line, you can try chase sapphire preferred, Merrill+, chase palladium (need to be CPC to qualify), citi prestige / thank you premier, American Express revolvers and charge cards.

Basically any prime bank will be willing to offer you 50k if they think you qualify for it.

Re: Must Have Card

Looking at your current limits, I doubt any card would throw a 50K limit at you off the bat unless you have very high income.
