Congratulations!

I've decided I'm not going to apply cold for any more credit.  I'm going to let come to ME with preapprovals and BEG me to be their customers.  It'll feel good to be able to pick and choose.

M.V. and Connie, I totally agree with you. In rebuilding credit, it's a chore to get some cc's that satisfy your your financial needs, for the time being. As your scores change(and hopefully income) needs/wants/desires change.

It's a process going from "desperately needing any type of credit" to being able to pick and choose the cc's you desire.

And I agree with M.V. Getting pre-apps, while not considering any of them seriously, is a very good benchmark to measure how other ccc's see you. I don't think I'll be opting out anytime soon.

I wonder if any ccc or their pr-app mailing company keeps any kind of statistics on what they send out to whom, and the reply rate to those pre-apps?
