I think that when you are a Chase checking customer helps a lot (I am).
Agree with this statement. I had 0 history with Chase, do not bank with them (probably never will) so only $6K. If they can peer into your bank account, i'm sure it helps them decide.

So here's my experience....
July 2014 I app'd for the Freedom with an EX score in the 690s. I got a 7-10 day and reconned for more info. The analyst advised me that I had a still open checking account with less than a $1 in it and that he said that it looked like I had used the account to just make minimum payments on the credit cards I had (true during the time I actively used the account). Also I did not have any new or recently issued credit. The few late pays from two years ago didn't seem to put them off as I let them know I had been sick and unemployed. Still a denial but at least I knew what they were looking for. I spent the next 6 months increasing existing CLs, got in with Navy Fed with a $14K Visa, and cleaned up my reports a bit more. I pulled the trigger on the CSP after I closed on my mortgage in January but before it reported. Instant approval for $5K!
Endurance pays in the credit world. Good job!

I for example just applied plain and simple , income 26k and credit score was 710 or 715 ., my checking account (with chase) probably had $100 lol and got approved after a verification recon .
Checking is irrelevant. As always, consider your sources, validate, corroborate, etc. It's about credit and income just as it is with any creditor.
@Anonymous wrote:The chase sapphire seems like the middle class amex black or JP palladium . That being said a lot of people think it's a pretty slick card and many people want it , of course the bonus points and ultimate rewards make it better
The latter is the sort of thing that people should be using to determine if the cards suits the indivdual versus wanting a card for its appearance, "prestige", popularity, material, etc IMO.
