I just became a member of NFCU today and wasn't sure if I should wait to apply for a credit card (unsecured) through NCFU? Just wanted to see if anyone else did right away or waited.

Go ahead and apply now, first card will likely be a low limit. After 91 days hit them up for a secord card and a cloc.

This isn't necessarily true. Your approval and initial credit limit is determined by your credit report and NFCU internal scoring. I have a BK on my report and my first card with them was approved at $20k.

I applied the same day I became a member.

its an HP for membership already....TU for membership and EQ credit card (correct me if I am wrong)...all the best and keep us posted on your first card with them.
I had no HP for membership but it was a TU HP for credit card(40 days later).
I joined NFCU on 10-24. They do a soft pull of your credit report. The rep who did my application asked if I wanted to apply for a credit card and I did. I received the card within 4 days and was given a $15,000 CL. You get yor debit card immediately.
