Does anyone know specifically the things NFCU wont like to see (recent inq, accounts etc.).  With 600 eq do i have a chance?  If so, which card?

I think you have a good shot...NFCU has very liberal lending criteria... I just got 2  10k cards with a 660 FICO, BK from 04, over 20 accounts opened in the last year and 25% utilization...GOOD LUCK..

I applied for the nRewards Visa and got 24 hour message.. anyone have any luck when ya got the 24 hour review message?  Patience isnt a virtue of mine...

Hi fender,

An EQ of 600 seems to be the magic number for Navy Federal.

Virtually everyone with that score or higher who has applied for

a cc has been approved.

I'm also currently in the pipeline for an nRewards MC. I called

to check on my app status this past Friday and the folks in

Credit Card Services are REALLY backed up right now with apps.

NFCU recently expanded their membership to include all DOD

military and civilian personnel, and they've been getting slammed

from the initial rush of new members wanting cards.

So if it takes longer than 24 hours for them to get back to you, please

be patient. They're working as fast as they can.

The decisionmakers in NFCU credit card services only work Mon - Fri,

so I won't know anything until sometime tomorrow.

DH applied for the nrewards visa and was approved instantly for 4k. EQ was 579 and needless to say his report is pretty awful. You should be fine!

I applied the same day he did and received the message. My EQ is 650 and clean. My income is very low so I won't get my hopes up. They did call on the 29th to request DL, current utility and proof of income. She said it would take a couple of days after they receive the requested documents before I would know.

got an email saying:

"You have a new message from the Navy Federal Credit Union Credit Card
Lending branch regarding your Credit Card Application"

I log in, and nothing has changed... what gives!!!  I got all excited!!  ><

It took over a week for our nrewards to be approved. My dh's scores were all over 715 and mine are below in my signature. They needed proof of income and once they had it we had our 25k credit line

Be patient, it takes them awhile.
