Navy Federal finally decided to publically refresh their 2% promotion onto a new existing card. Now there's the standard cashRewards and the cashRewards Plus. The cashRewards will earn 1.5% & be issued to those with credit lines under $5,000 and will be on the Visa/Mastercard network tiers. The CashRewards Plus will earn base 2% for those approved with SL over $5,000 & will be Visa Signature/World Mastercard. They no longer offer the 1.75% with direct deposit on the standard.
DATA POINT: For those wondering, if you got the 2% promotion this past year & don't have a CL above $5,000, rest assured your rewards will be grandfathered even with a standard castRewards Visa/Mastercard as long as you have direct deposit. Confirmed with a rep.
Just got the notice that my card is now 2%
Okay so if they are doing this, what will the FlagShip Visa will be?
The benefit I like is the Amazon Prime reimburstment of $139 just for the card's AF of $49.

Side note: should have also asked for that Plus card's max CL is still to 50k.
I just got 2 emails saying that both of my cashRewards are now 2% cash back.
Both are under the $5k limit and I have direct deposit at NFCU.

I took an NFCU survey not too long ago about a potential Flagship rewards buff. If I remember correctly it was something like 4X travel, 3X dining & 2X everywhere else? Gah idk but it was something like that.

IMO besides the Amazon Prime benefit, but you listed isn't worth it. They are probably better off increasing the Flagship standard to 3% cashback (3X) with a little more to the AF.
What you listed isn't worth it as the Chase unlimited/flex cover the 3% dining and NFCU Amex already covers 3X dining.
I just found the exact survey.
“Please take a moment to review the new Flagship card
APR 15.24% - 18%
4X points on travel (airfare, hotel, car rental, rideshare and cruise)
3X points on dining (restaurants and food delivery)
2X points on everything else
$95 AF. No balance transfer fees/cash advance fees/FTF/etc.
i agree with ya tho, not too competitive when you have travel cards that not only earn more then this Flagship structure, but have better benefits, better redemptions with travel partners & a lot of the $95 AF mid tier travel cards are World Elite Mastercards, which in comparison to travel protections offered on the Visa Signature network tier, aren't even close.
Yup...just got the email from NFCU.

My Cash Rewards Visa is currently at a CL of 20K, and I do not have Direct Deposit with NFCU.
