Navy Federal Secured card graduation

Hi! We have had a NFCU secured card for 6 months. Our 7th statement just printed and we did not graduate to the regular card. Smiley Sad  We have a chapter 13 that has been discharged for over a year. However, it will not fall off our reports until December. Has anyone else here been able to have their card graduate with a past bankruptcy on the report? The representative said it will be re-evaluated each time the statement prints. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone here has a similar experience.  Thank you!

Re: Navy Federal Secured card graduation

I just wanted to update my post.  My card graduated yesterday.  🎉 $2,000 credit limit for cash rewards college.  I guess it was already in process when I called.

Re: Navy Federal Secured card graduation

Congrats on your graduation! If you don't mind me asking, when did your billing cycle close? I was wondering how long the system took to upgrade your card. I have the same card and my 6th statement closed on March 24. I messaged them about upgrading the card, but they said they cannot do manual reviews and it's up to the system to automatically upgrade the card. Perhaps I need to wait another month to get my deposit back, or maybe it's just a matter of a couple more days.

Edit: I didn't read your first post fully. I see that it closed around the 6th, so it only took 2 days to upgrade. If you don't mind, what was your Equifax score and did you open new accounts in the past couple months? There's not a lot of data points on what the system is looking for.

Re: Navy Federal Secured card graduation

Hi! My billing cycle closes on the 28th. My FICO was 695 but it dropped to 670. I’m assuming it was a hard pull that caused that because we have not had any other changes.  Also, we have not opened any other accounts recently.

Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) cards

Hi! I have a question. We started out with a secured card with NFCU. They graduated our card to a Cash Rewards with a $2,000 limit. Do they ever automatically increase your credit line? Or do you have to request an increase? Current Fico is 802 according to their website. We pay the card off immediately and use it again. Thank you.

They do auto increases, but I don't think anyone on here has ever waited for one. Especially since the requests are SP now.

It may be 6 month wait time for eligibility from last credit increase. It should be SP inquiry if consumer initiated and done online or app. If done with CSR may result in a HP inquiry.
