I was just approved for the Platinum card with a $15,500 limit. I currently have the CashRewards opened on 4/20/20 with a SL of $3000 and a CLI on 7/25/20 of $4000 for $7000 total CL. By my calculations my CashRewards could be eligible for another CLI on 1/22/21 (181 days).
If Navy will reallocate $6000 from my CashRewards to my new Platinum card, will that affect the CashRewards's eligibility to receive a CLI next month? Thanks.
Neither card will be eligible for CLIs for 6 months because the reallocation constitutes a change in credit limit.

Thanks. OK, then if I wait as, originally planned, the CashRewards will still be at least eligible at the next 181 day mark, right?

181 isn't always accurate. I usually recommend shooting for 185 to make sure you won't get declined for asking too early but yes, if you wait your card's eligibility will stay the same as it was.
Is this 6 months thing new? I had 3 CLIs on my Flagship in the past year: end of December, mid April and early November. While the only time I asked on More Rewards was in June, I do plan to close that and combine it into Flagship very soon and was thinking about asking for a CLI to $80k at the same time (which is only $3500).

This year was weird. They gave an extra CLI to a lot of people. It's normally 6 months between approved CLIs per card.

@K-in-Boston, You get to be the outlier this time
