Chase CLI’s aren’t subject to the 5/24 rule directly, but the # of new accounts in last 12m and 24m does play a role in approving a CLI requests. Again, in your case, that is far second to that long BK7 memory Chase has. There are stories all over myfico from members who have tried repeatedly to get back in and have been turned down every time.
They’ve given you not one BUT two cards to demonstrate good behavior. Use the hell out of them, pay them to $0 balance multiple times in cycle. Chase loves in cycle payoffs. Regardless of the limits, the multiple in cycle payoffs will raise your internal score with them. That internal scoring will be the primary factor in future approvals. The reality is those two cards probably won’t ever be approved for any type of CLI.
In May of 2016 I squeaked in with a bare minimum $5k CSP. Got an Auto CLI to $10k after 3rd statement. Oct 2016 my Chase Ritz was approved with a $20k SL and then got the CSP bumped to $20k too following the same advice I’m relaying to you. I’ve spent hours on the phone with Chase Credit Analysts over the last 2+ years asking random questions just gleaning info.
By the time you are under 5/24 your approval on a CSP or other Chase product with a nice starting limit should be a cake walk.
Thanks for the insight. I've been reading from lots of people that you're lucky to get a card with Chase after burning them in BK. So I'm definitely grateful for the 2 cards. I'll take your advice and not poke the bear or raise any flags by maxing out the cards on purpose just to prove a theory. We've got plenty of credit already so I think I need to stop obsessing about this, and remember that I did screw them years ago.

In your case, this is a risky move. You’re clearly already in borderline rejection territory with Chase and a sudden score drop and/or maxing a card may be just the excuse for them to AA and/or shut you out.
If you really need a CLI, roll the dice with a HP. It’s the most direct and reliable “strategy” there is to getting one. Trying to game the system isn’t a winning strategy with Chase and auto CLIs from them are rare and inconsistent.
Yeah, maxing them out on purpose is most likely a bad idea if I just got back in. I tried the other way and it wasn't working so I was thinking of a different plan.
I don't really need the CLI, but it'd be convenient so I don't have to pay down to use it again, or for any purchases over $500. I could use any other card, but I'm trying to grow the Chase cards.
@cashcorp1 my goal is definitely to be more than just in good graces with Chase on my own. I got all the cards already but as an AU with my wife. Do I need to do this? Nah. I already get the rewards, but this is like my kryptonite and I want to fix it.
I was charging quite a bit on the Amazon card before I applied for the CSP and FU. The CSP recon felt like it just needed an extra poke, and I would've got it. I could tell the guy was really trying to give it to me. Previously, I'd been shot down in one sentence, "there won't be any reconsideration for you anytime soon." Boom... Way to destroy a guy's ego, haha. I didn't know if I wanted to cry or laugh.
I got the FU a week ago and it's already maxed out. But that wasn't hard to do when my electric and gas bill was $497. So now, I'll pay it and charge again and again and again...
I'm not sure about a "ridiculously high SL" haha, but I'll be ok with an increase on the current cards and getting the CSP. Then eventually get the CSR by PC.
This is probably obvious but if you're looking to buy a big ticket item on Amazon, just keep buying $500 Amazon GCs with your Amazon Visa and pay it off mid-cycle. Repeat a few times until you hit the desired amount you want.
