Regions

I wouldn't waste a hard pull on a CLI with them.  With your excellent credit profile you should be able to get a top of the line cash back or rewards card from any bank you choose, with a substantially larger credit limit than any you've got now.  So IMHO you should decide whether you want cash back or travel rewards, and go with a top of the line card from Chase or Citi.

Thank you. I have been rather dissapointed with Regions overall to be hionest.

Awesome! Good look, if you remember to come back to this thread for an update I'd love to know how it goes!

Re: New Card or CLI

In addition to what others have said, I'd like to point out another option....

You say you haven't been highly impressed with Regions ( I have heard very similar feedback from other Regions members before, and honestly, their credit products are rather lackluster in comparison with many other lenders)

You might want to consider possibly entertaining the option of a Credit Union. Credit Unions usually offer much better interest rates, credit products, and other perks that some major banks don't. In particular, if you have the income to support, their credit card SL's typically land on the higher side. In my own personal experience, both AODFCU and Affinity FCU have been very generous. Depending on your income/DTI ratio, you could possibly land anywhere from $10k - 30k SL. They both also have extremely good dividends on their savings/checking products and their interest rates for vehicle loans are primo. Both of these are part of the Credit Union Co-Op, which means you can access them from any other Co-Op credit union, local to you. These are simply two CU's I have personal experience with.....there are many others out there. Here is the link for you to search your area...

I agree with what others have said regarding the CLI.....you would likely have more success opening a new card which suits your spending, and likely be much better off than with a vanilla 1.5% card. AOD has a 3% general spend card, and Affinity's Cash Rewards card is phenomenal.

If you aren't interested in CU's.....people have had good success with that FNBO Evergreen 2% card mentioned earlier, Wells Fargo Active Cash 2% and Citi Double Cash 2%. Each of these cards would grow fairly well too.

Good luck to you.

Re: New Card or CLI

I think from reading your follow up posts that opening a new account would be beneficial.

However with what sounds like a limited credit profile but very clean, it might still benefit you to use another HP to still increase your overall CL with Regions. Even if you plan on moving away from using it. Other lenders will look at your CLs and it will help your overall utilization as well.

Your credit score will be taking the biggest hit from the HP and new account that you add. An additional HP would likely only be minor drop.

Just something to consider.

Thank you. I really can't afford for my credit to take a big hit right now.
