Re: New FNBO Limited-Time Offer Card?

Looks like they stopped taking applications.  Can't move past the selection of which state you live in.  Keeps saying that they aren't taking applications at this time.

Oops, very true, Simmons is available as well, sorry about that and my bad there (forgot about that one, many thanks for the helpful reminder!) Smiley Happy  Plus I think IberiaBank may also have a ~7% card available as well perhaps...

Apple FCU has rates as low as 5.74% variable (anyone know of a good organization to join to qualify for Apple FCU? )

University FCU Great Rate card has rates as low as 5.90% variable.

There is no backdoor way into Apple FCU.  They used to to have some member orgsnization way in but no longer.  You have to live or worship in the area.

At the bottom of the page they have Additional Participating Businesses, Associations & Clubs. But its a huge list divided by initial letter.

For example, under V they have a lot of volunteers, like Volunteer Catholic Charities. So, can you join some local Catholic Charities group, and thus qualify? Are there other national groups we can join in those lists?

I've talked with a fellow poster, Spootify who is a member and he's talked to them on the phone and they apparently said that there were no outside ways in.  I'm not sure that the Catholic Charities group listed is a national group and not some local one.  I think if they were to look closely they would compare your address to those local groups.  I live in Maryland not too far from where they are located so I might get away with saying I attend one of the Catholic Churches nearby.   I'm not sure how much they check eligibility.

Noo!  Hopefully this is temporary and they aren't seriously ending applications for this card already. Its terms are so tempting!

800+ across all three (via FAKOs) has been achieved! Current goal - Get down to 6 cards in total - sitting with 8 currently.

Re: New FNBO Limited-Time Offer Card?

According to the terms and conditions of the Apple FCU card that some posters here were very kind to mention, after taking a quick peek on their website:

"5.74% to 18.00%

when you open your account, based on your creditworthiness. This APR will vary with the market based on the Prime Rate."

Does this generally  mean that only super-prime card applicants with say a credit score of 780+ will be approved at the 5.74% rate?  Smiley Sad  (The nice thing about the the FNBO Amex was that they appeared to offer the 6.25% rate across the board, regardless of the specific credit score of the applicant?)

This is true but I bet FNBO is being very selective in who they approve
