Just got this secured OpenSky card about 3 weeks ago. I've been checking it everyday and it still doesn't have a miminum payment due date yet. Why is that ? Should I pay off whatever balance I have already charged on the card, or should I wait until it generates a statement ?
Lastly, how long does it usually take a new credit card to show up on your credit report ?
I think you have to wait for the statement to cut before the minimum due will be determined. Congracts on getting your new OpenSky Card.
@BM1990, payment is optional at this time. If you'd like to pay to free up your limit or to control what goes onto your credit report, go ahead and do that. However, nothing will actually be due until you receive a statement.
Congrats on your OpenSky approval. You can pay at any time -and- to me . . . the sooner the better!!! Reporting to the CRAs vary based on the creditor; it could be immediate -and- it could be after your 2nd or 3rd statement generates.

You won't have a due date until your 1st statement is generated.
You can pay now to control what is cut on your statement, depending how much you've spent.
Usually your new CC will report within 1-2 statements.

Is it possible to contact the creditors and ask them to report the card a little sooner?

Congrats on your OpenSky card. They are a great starter card with great customer service. Smart choice being that they did not pull your credit. Unfortunately they do not graduate to a permanent unsecured card, but they will help you a lot with your future growth. When I first got my OpenSky card I did not see a min payment until after the first cycle generated. They reported to my credit report right after my first statement. Strangely my card was approved on the 3rd of the month, and my first due date was not until the 12 of the following month. So I had to wate 44 days before I seen the card show up on my credit reports. The card has a great benefit. If you use their online payment system they will take the payment on the day you select and as long as its not a weekend they will take the money out ach from the bank account of your choice. The credit available with update the very next day. Not too many companies offer that speedy option. You will need to add an external bank account first.
You can make as many payments early as you want but you won't get a due date until the statement date arrives

That might be pushing it. Most of the non graduate companies I have found do one cycle reporting no matter what. Meaning they have a report date and they stick with it. No off cycle reporting. Be patient no rush to the finish line it will come and report.
