I used to have a Captial One CC and I advise you to stay away from custom image card. They are vastly inferior than standard design. They are thin and filmsy.
I also think the quality is not very good. It's sort of a cheap semi-matte finish. No change to the card number, of course, so you can just shred the new one if you don't like it.

Ah, thanks. That's good to know.
Guess I'll try my luck with them upgrading me from a Quicksilver VISA to VISA Signature before requesting a custom card... it's been over 6 months since I was product change from Cash Rewards to Quicksilver with a CLI boost putting me over the $5k cutoff for Signature.

At first it seemed tacky but it does kind of grow on you.

I'm the only one that likes the way the card looks? A friend did not like that card.

I had a custom card with a Christmas picture I took at a tourist attraction. It was pretty recognizable and the card held up quite well.
I've read here from at least 1-2 people that custom cards replacing QS come with embossed/raised numbers and are thicker than the QS flat card. YMMV of course.
My custom image card is a lot thicher then the standard QS card I first got..
So random update but I got my custom card.
+It's as thick as the QS card which is as thick as any of my other credit cards.
+The front is embossed.
-The VISA Signature logo is no longer monochrome.
-The back is no longer the same matte black I was hoping it would be either; it's more of a speckled metallic silver.
It's not bad but seems a bit off to me, not sure why. Maybe it's just that plain black is something I have to get used to seeing. All my normal cards have a convex bend to it bending upwards towards the embossed numbers whereas the custom card has a concave bend which makes it sit on my table differently.
I'm just being OCD but it's something I noticed off the bat so makes it feel a bit "off" so to speak. I'm sure I'll get used to it in time since it's practically under a microscope for now being new and custom. Will probably also mess with other custom images and settle on one I like since they allow a new image once a month, free of charge, and it keeps the same number.

I have two cards with custom images. One card is a picture of my dog the other card is a picture of Mount Rainier I took on a hiking trip.
Custom designs are the best designs.

I've had my own image on my card since I opened my account, I'm a part time photographer and used one of my favorite landscape photos I had taken, and it came out decent! Nothing to write home about, but it wasn't pixelated and grainy like I was half expecting. I actually get compliments on the card when I use it at restaurants and they ask where they got the image, I just chuckle and say "must be a good photographer!"
I've heard others say the card is thin and semi-matte. Not mine - mine is still a sturdy card in comparison to others I've had, and my finish on the card is glossy!
Shameless plug, here's the photo I used.

They do... my pair of custom cards are thicker than the QS... and the name/numbers are embossed/raised.
Neither says Quicksilver... both have CapOne logo in upper right with "Platinum" underneath.
