Re: Nice Nusenda CU Mobile Wallet Promo Oct-Nov

Oh wow. I'm sure it's been discussed somewhere on MF, but I was still under the impression that Nusenda is 6% in category. Looks like it's only 5% now. That's a change, right?

I've never known the Nusenda card to be 6%. It's been 5% for as long as I've had it.

5% as far as I know.  Why/how would it be 6%?

There has been discussion about Nusenda being a 6% card that they advertise as a 5% card for years (message 5):

and

It has also been mentioned on DOC comments and is the reason it's been near the top of our list to get if we can get in the geofence. This would bump it down the list.

Very interesting.  If I was ever getting 6%, I can't say that I noticed it.  Regardless, it looks like I am getting only 5% now.  I thought maybe those getting 6% were part of the Earn Your Return but I think that is paid out once a year in one payment.  I do wonder if anyone is still getting 6%!

Re: Nice Nusenda CU Mobile Wallet Promo Oct-Nov

@GatorCowboyLion Yep good catch, it's been so long since I've checked. Nice little stealth nerf Nusenda slipped past us.

Also a couple DP's. Walgreens is counting as "retail", and so far my restaurant spend has not received the 5%, except for a small neighborhood deli of all places. I checked my Citi CC and Alt. GO and both code the same restaurants correctly.

Curious to know if anyone has any other "retail" DP's. I'm not impressed with this card lately.

Reached out to them via secure mail.  The issue is still ongoing, with an outside resolution date of 12/1.  Regardless, Costco.com purchases will not qualify for online retail because Costco codes as warehouse.

I'm pretty sure there was a promo bonus 1% in Q4 2022. This meant coding problems still netted 2% as a baseline which was, for me at least, roughly equivalent to the baseline.

I believe the SUB also gives a bonus 1% for 90 days.

Are you saying that this is what explains some people reporting 6% on the quarterly 5% cats?

Re: Nice Nusenda CU Mobile Wallet Promo Oct-Nov

The good news: Nusenda added back the missing bonus cash for a restaurant and brick and mortar store.  The amounts do not show up in the individual transactions at ScorecardRewards but the total cash rewards number does reflect the adjustment.

The very bad news: Nusenda declined to count Zappos.com as online retail because it does not fall under a qualifying code. When asked for a list of qualifying codes -

"Unfortunately, we are not able to provide a list of merchant codes that are accepted for the quarter as we are not provided this. We can only check if a merchant does qualify for the bonus rewards."

I think Nusenda swung from an overly lax coding previously - where every physical store counted as retail, for example - to an overly restrictive coding that credits the 5% only for something that is obviously in-category, i.e. Amazon for online purchases.

This is bad for people who optimize cash back, but probably extends the card's longevity as a 5% rotator.

For Q1 I am just gonna use it for gas...there is no way they miscode Exxon right?  Right???
