Nordstroms Card

I just got my Nordstrom's card about two weeks ago.  They pulled all three of my CRs.

Keep in mind this was back when all I did was shop at Nordstrom and almost never paid the card off, I had it maxed plus some and took cash advances on it monthly (nordstrom does not charge anything to take cash advances or charge higher apr!)

Good to know! So, Nordstrom doesn't even charge the 3 or 4% cash advance fee that banks typically charge ?

What kind of Nordstrom card did you apply for? Retail card or Visa card? I'm interested in the retail card but if the pull the three CRAs then I ill not do it.

I applied today and was declined!  They pulled only EQ.

Bummer.

I was declined as well...  EQ 729 FICO, 3 INQ's and new accounts...  denied for INQ's  All 3 in last month...

Like the other banks, I think Nordstrom has really tightened up on giving out credit.  They also raised everybody's APR across the board.

When I originally applied, it was for the Visa, but they consider you for the store card as well if you don't make the requirements for the Visa.  I applied over the phone b/c I wanted to make sure they would give me the card and that I could talk to somebody if there was a problem.  The gentile man was very helpful and informed me that although I was just short of the requirements for the visa, I would receive the store card.  He also informed me that I would be more than eligible for the visa in about three months as long as I used the card and paid regularly.  Initially only EX and TU showed up as being pulled, but then a day later, I get a message saying that EQ was also pulled, but I got my card, so it was worth it =)  I'm good with new accounts for at least six more months and could afford the inquiries.

Thanks for the information. I would like to apply only for the retail card... do you know if they hard pull all three CRAs for this card or they pulled your three credit reports because you applied for the Visa card, which I think has higher requirements.

I think they may have pulled all three b/c I asked for the visa and the CRS was trying to get the score I needed.  My guess was that you need a 700 for the Visa so he was trying all three to see if I had it.  He told me I was close lol and my EQ is 695.  I can't say for sure though.

I applied online for the retail card (the one I wanted) yesterday. I got the 7-10 day message in the mail. I called right after the provided phone number to ask about my application status, and they confirmed I had been approved! EQ (after they pulled it) is 724 so probably it was over 730 at the application time.
