No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
This might sound like an odd question, but when I chack my credit reports I am finding very few soft hits from the cards that I'm interested in.
Is there a way to encourage companies to SP me more? I opted back in after my fraud alert wore off, but have seen virtually no activity besides the cards I already have.
(Seeking a discover offer like I had before!)
There's virtually no method to force them to SP. As long as you're opted in, then that should be fine. CCCs compile multiple data streams based on a lot of factors and at different intervals (promotional marketing, portfolio growth, geographical penetration/saturation, etc.) so, depending whether you're on their radar and meet their elegibility criteria for any available offers then those would be extended at some point.
Gotcha.
Oh well, it was worth a shot to ask.
Thank you.
How do you make sure that you are "opted in"?

I know this is a stupid question, but WHERE and HOW do you do that? I get the gist of what it means to be opted in (ccc's are allowed to soft pull your CR's), but I don't know the logistics of how to do it. Does that make sense?
In other words, do I notify someone in particular at EXP, EQ, and TU? Press a button on their website? Send an email? Excuse my ignorance, I just don't know how it works.

In addition to being opted in, you can leverage a banking relationship for other offers depending on who your bank or CU is. Often times they can SP your CRs and extend or offer additional products like brokerage, mortgage, auto financing or other CCs. It also depends on the bank/CU and the relationship. Of course, as you grow your CR file, then more offers or solicitations can be triggered by other competitors.
I know the feeling....ive been watching my friends literally using the credit card pre-approval letters as firepit kindling all summer long...the second we'd run out...there is 10 more in the mailbox....
Its like fire kindling delivery service, provided by CHASE, DISCOVER, AMEX, CAPITAL ONE! hahaha
I cant PAY to get pre-approvals in the mail, even though im definitely in the score range to be getting at least some offers...I even sign up for offers from differnt companies and stuff just to guage offers im getting....still barely get any...no idea why.
I did get a few Discover card offers suddently and one of them was the same offer as the others but had lower APR....I grabbed that one and BAM.... $6000 starting limit. I'd of never applied if i didnt have that confidence of approval from the pre-approval letter from them.

The website posted earlier, 'notifies' the CRAs.
