Your keeper lineup is awesome! I've tried to be pretty metered with my approach of picking up new cards, but I've still acquired some that will end up on the chopping block at some point.
I'm still at that point that I almost a cannot imagine cutting my imaginary money limit on plastic though! 😂

LOL you won't get any judgement from me, and you're right if we were able to lay it out like cash in front of us I'm sure I'd feel VERY differently

Congratulations on your lineup and progress! I'm cash-back focused too, so I've always been amazed by your collection lol. Why haven't you added the AOD to your pile o' plastic?

@Rockysocks that one is easy - I was denied Smiley LOL

At the time of my app I had two big things working against me (recently opened loan at 98% and like 14 new cards in prior 18 months). It was mainly denied due to debt-to-income ratio but they specifically callled out my recent number of new cards.

I'd probably be approved for it now, but the difference between 2.5% and 3%, coupled with my gardening efforts, doesn't have me looking at the card. The 3 cards I picked up after that denial were 5% cards and pretty much filled in my general usage so I would gain very little by adding that card now.

Congrats on the slight downsizing. It's nice when you actually love all your cards. I have an amex bce that was on the chopping block but with citi taking their sweet time to product change to custom cash, I have to stay with it.

It's taken years to get my lineup where it's at (very cash rewards focused, most folks are MR/UR/TY points driven). I hear they're starting to open up about PC's so maybe soon! After I posted this I actually reached out to Citi chat to check on the Dividend to Customer PC and they said I don't have the offer. Maybe at some point they will but I won't sweat it.

They're always sending me the "convert to citi rewards+" emails and flyers, at least once a week, every week, so figured it would be an option, but not today. I still got a couple months before I blast thru my BCP $6k so maybe by then they'll let me do it

Lol Citi wont stop offering me the upgrade from my DP to Rewards. Lol nope. They wont give me any cli or any more approvals so im ok   for now. Even though i dont Sub hunt, having it as an option is better than notSmiley Wink

Did you ever get into the millionaire club?

@credit_endurance Someone messaged me a couple weeks ago with a kind alert. They thought I might have a glitch somewhere in my signature code because it wasn't showing all my cards lol very observant. I let them know it was intentional, but I appreciated the heads up! Lol

Tier 1 was the hunting and gathering phase, and now I'm Tier 2 - the time to feast!

Very accurate sum of things and observation. Approvals are very addictive but you reach a point where the novelty of it all wares off. I think for me COVID inadvertently caused me to garden as I couldn't go past 6 months doing so prior.

I want a couple more cards next year, then will try to get myself to 5/24 for a top tier chase card and then the mic will drop. 😆

Lol, i really regret closing my only Chase card, Amazon , and is really the only card i would like to have again but 5 /24 is so hard when you realuze you Ficoed up so hard last 2 yearsSmiley Wink

LOL the 5/24 really is aimed at people like us. When it went into effect I was lucky because I already had the 3 cards I wanted with them, but I've been in time-out for at least 4 years now with them

i figured I'll never be under 5/24 so I looked elsewhere and carried on like a bandit. A few days ago, for the first time ever after banking with them for 10 years, chase gave me a black star offer. It was for their business line of credit, which is quite attractive, but I was more pleased that they offered anything at all. I always thought I was on the bad list (never burned them), but I did always have a very active profile.

I am tempted to do the same and probably will soon; it's hard because I really like the lenders I have and their products. Having only 4 cards is the ideal number for me.

Having a couple is ideal since lender diversity and all, and one never knows when one might have an emergency or needs to utilize a credit limit. At the moment im enjoying using only one card. For low spenders like me im finding this so much nicer. Not only in simplicity,  but less cards to think of having to pay lol.  @credit_is_crack  and @Gmood1  credit signatures are legendary here thoughSmiley Happy

Yeah, my biggest lesson, and why ill try not to tell someone to close their account haphazardly,  was closing it before a year up because i thought it would never grow , especially on my income. Also Penfed was pendreading me at that time so i was like forget them ill close it and never go Chase again. I dont need Chase for sure but  through time and error, ive learned sometimrs keeping a card might pay off in the future. One never knows. Just look at all these recent Chase Amazon increases. So unlike Chase and they havent been small ones but more like Citi DC glitch style  lol. I think im 7/24 now so if i can hold off another year i might be good. Then again maybe Chase wont even have  Amazon. Comenity Amazon Creative Signature Visa?Smiley Wink

Funny post @credit_is_crack   That Synovus card stands out like a sore thumb in your siggy.  I'd chop it's head off.  Smiley Tongue  That card looked like that before the CRASH.

OMG don't say that! I hope it doesn't go to Comenity, but they are a bit fast and loose with CLIs. I think chase is fighting to keep it and using us to say "look how much our customers have in credit with Amazon", and want to leverage that to strong arm Amazon into better terms (for chase).

It's the extreme version of UMB owning the DC card. Solid card, but very wrong lender. I'm actually hoping chase scoops that one up, but I have no idea what's going on with the DC card.

LOL @GApeachy  it does have that dated look to it. I would actually feel better if they did it on purpose and were aiming for retro, but I think it's just lack of creativity from their side. Maybe they'll do a design refresh soon as a lot of banks are doing them (citi, BofA, chase to make a few). Synovus is much smaller but they can't fall too far behind the pack (or that's just my wishful thinking).

Man i want to 😢  at never getting my Superman card, and now no MarvelSmiley Sad.

What Chase is doing is what Cap One should do to their Walmart card.  Funny i closed my 15k store card, kept my $1700 MC and yet still find no incentive to use it. I know use it at Wally but not a big fan there but with such a big account handing out $100 increases does nothing. Anywho, back to reality....Smiley Wink
