How often can you do this?

I just recently(march) upgraded Platinum to QS1, w$59 AF. I'm curious if I can PC it again, and howsoon it could be done?

When I checked the link recently, it didn't so anything but take me to the homepage. lol

Pretty sure it's 1 card every 6 months.

I believe I've read here that there's a six month period before product-change offers reappear. But that would be on a per-card basis; one card wouldn't affect another. Also note that for some cards, offers to PC never appear at all.

Can't find where I read it, almost 100% sure it was on Cap1s site, an upgrade counts as a new app, which is why it's only once per account every 6 months. It would also restart the 6 month clock to app.

Upgrades don't affect anything about the card except for the rewards structure, the verification number on the back, the annual fee if applicable, and possibly the expiration date. The six months we're talking about in this case is the minimum amount of time it would take for upgrade offers to begin to reappear.

I wonder if you're thinking about account combinations, which do affect one's ability to request a credit limit increase on the newly combined card. The cardholder would need to wait six months after the combination.

I don't think anything affects one's ability to apply for a brand new card except for the opening date of one's previously opened Cap One card and the number of Cap One cards currently in hand. They only allow one card to be opened every six months, a total of two subprime cards, and a total of five cards overall.

No, I was talking about upgrades. Going through my calendar, I see that I didn't have a concrete answer to whether it affects the 6 month application clock. I set 2 reminders to check prequals. One based on 181 days after my last card, and one 181 days from the upgrade, to see if it did affect it. Also remembered that I'm also watching my wife's account. She had 2 accounts eligible for upgrade and chose to upgrade her platinum to a Venture One. The second account is no longer eligible for upgrade.  We'll have to see if it becomes eligible again prior to the 6 monthe or if at all.

For what it's worth, I upgraded two QS1s to QSes on the same day. About six and a half months later, I had Savor PC offers on both cards. I product-changed one of them.

Interesting. Did you call in? We did our upgrades online.
