The fact that I joined a CU in a state half a country away just for the EX FICO score is really sad, now that I think about it. I really need to check my priorities! ![]()
I also a member of PSECU just for the FICO score. I have a $0 savings account and a $0 checking account. I have thought about opening a new credit card, but I don't need another card. My FICO went up to 700 this month.
Up 35 to 765. Finally back in the 760s after slowly sinking the past 4-5 months to a low of 730 last month. My reported balances were lower and I had an inquiry fall off. I suspect I am even higher right now. I had a bogus HP from 12/12 removed the day after PSECU pulled the scores. I was going to app for a card but I am waiting til next month so I can see my score without that HP I had removed before I put a dent in it. hahahaha
DaveSignal,
Careful about having no activity though....
PSECU called last month about lack of activity ( I keep 25 in one account and 50 in another) and told me I risked inactivity fees if I didn't do something. SO, I transferred 5 bucks from one account to the other. ;-)

hmmm... they haven't called me yet (probably because I my phone number is international). I could put some money in the accounts. When I opened the checking I was going told I didn't need any deposit to open the account. How much do I need to put in my accounts to avoid inactivity fees?
I don't think it's about amounts. It's just activity. I was approaching one year with no activity at all. I lost my first psecu account years ago for this reason. I got fees down to zero and they closed it.
Yeah, not sure why they called me. My wife doesn't use hers either....but she had a car loan for a while so I guess that's ok.

You might consider funding both of your accounts and using them occasionally. I've read elsewhere that PSECU is closing inactive accounts. I have a couple grand in my savings and about $500 in checking. I use the debit card for an online purchase ever 3-4 months. I joined about 6 months before the out of state loopholes ended. I can't imagine not having an EX FICO score now that I've had one for a while. I remember the good old days when you could get your EX FICO score here at Myfico.
I wish Fair Isaac and Experian would kiss and make up already. It would be nice to get all three FICO scores here instead of jumping through so many hoops.
well, I don't use it for anything right now so I guess I should put $5 in to transfer between the accounts every now and then. I would have done it right now except the psecu site doesn't appear to be working for transfers at this time.
Thanks for the head up though. Good lookin' out.
